Rooted HTC Stock Froyo 3.26.651.3 - Deodexed
 

Although this is not the final build of Froyo for our Evo's im sure a lot of people would like to have this.

This rom is rooted, with busybox (thanks netarchy) and deodexed.

You will need to wipe all data and cache (including davlik) before flashing to ensure that there are no issues.

You will also need to flash the new radio and wimax update.

1st
reboot into recovery and wipe data/cache/davlik and flash the rom
Evo-Froyo-2.2-Rooted-Stock-3.26.651.3-Deodexed
when u see the home screen reboot into recovery
2nd
flash the radio update and reboot
Radio-2.15.00.07.28
again... when u see the home screen reboot into recovery
3rd
flash the Wimax update and reboot
Wimax26023

and that should do it.

have fun... and hopefully the final update for Froyo will come sooner than later.

if u didnt update your smali/baksmali u wont be able to deodex all.
if u not sure how to i've put up the files on the kitchen thread on xda.

Great to see this up here. Does everything work 100%? What about any wifi/wifi tether problems? I really want to flash but wft is the deal breaker so far with the other offerings of early froyo with root. Any reviews on this one?

wifi seems to work for some and for some it doesn't... for me it does.

i dont think it would make any difference, but i cooked it in.

the rom i've put up here is mostly so that people can use it as a source, and i didnt really touch it besides deodexing it.
i think a lot of people would find it not so easy to deodex this rom cuz the files that are used to deodex needed to be revised and recompiled.

Just rooted my Evo for the first time... flashing this ROM and radios at the moment...

Let's see what fun lies ahead... Glad I finally took the dive and rooted...

I can't see all the market applications. Do I have to flash a a different version of the market?
