To help some people. I followed the guide to finding out mys screen type and failed.
The reason it failed is because on the 002 devices (well, mine at least), you cannot find/replace the word "NOVA" because the file doesnt reference the mddi as "NOVATEK"

In my file its "mddi_novtec_probe"

So feel free to copy and paste this into your find/replace and it should help ya out!

So I have 002 hardware and a Novatek screen.
I tried doing this kernel update and had no success. Framerate was still 30fps capped and my camera stopped working.

Does flashing this cause any data loss? apps, contacts, etc?

nope, no loss.. good to wipe the dalvik cache before flashing but that doesnt erase anything.

Try all the versions.. I tried em all and the only one that works perfect for me is 3.2.. although I havent tried the newest version 3.4 (prob try later though).

Just an FYI, version 3.6.2 and above have "merged" the fix for Epson and Novatec screens, it's now working for both, and they are up to version 3.6.3, have a look here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719763
