Also if I install this version over top of the last version, will programs double? I ask this because I had a OCTOBER ROM and I installed the 3.30 version over top and a lot of programs doubled. I know its not recommended to do what I did but I didnt want to erase everything...

I believe the ROM before this had like 290MB free on first boot, and I don't know if you're programs will double if you flash over your current one without a wipe because I always wipe before flashing any ROM.

I don't know what your exact results will be because I don't flash over my rom's and also don't reccommend doing it. Try it out and report back if you want to be a tester to see what happens.

I cannot recall the original memory amount in the previous rom but if you want to flash back to check it out let me know. I want to say about ~90MB less than the new one but don't quote me.

Chris, I used the files and instructions you provided is post 2, to revert from version 3.30.651.1 back to the original un-rooted shipped ROM, and it worked well. Does this only work if you are starting from a current rooted ROM, or would I be able to do the same thing if I was on a current OEM ROM. Would I be able to use your files and commands to get the phone to flash the RUU of the original shipped ROM, so I can root using the same method?

If you unrooted your phone and are now back on an older OEM version (example: 147.651.1), then you can follow the method posted in post 2 to re-root and then install any version of Sprint Lovers rom you want. If you get a new phone which already has updated software (example: 3.30.651.2) then you can root your phone using this guide: [GUIDE] How to root Android 2.2 on the EVO 4G Outdated - xda-developers

Ok so once we are on Froyo or newer, the method you provided in post 2 no longer works, but every version after including the most current can be rooted using the method in the link to XDA for rooting 2.2?

That is correct. The root method in post #2 is aimed more at the original EVO's which came with Android 2.1. The second Guide if for Android 2.2

**On a side note..I have never used the PDF viewer but as a comparison I downloaded the Adobe Reader from Market and compared it to the included PDF Viewer and was blown away by the Adobe Reader. It starts almost instantly and has much faster load times and smoother scrolling and zooming. Would you guys be interested in having the PDF Viewer swapped out for the Adobe Reader??**

+1 on that reader from the market better
