My only tried and true method right now is:
1 - Charge evo over night.
2 - Unplug in the AM and check email or whatever for a few minutes.
3 - Battery always goes down from 100% to 96-94% in five minute span once unplugged.
4 - Plug the EVO back in and wait a few minutes until you are 100%.
5 - Enjoy EVO for about 13-16 hours of regular usage before you hit the 50% mark.

Works for me all the time..

My issue with the Data check in the background disable is if it will stop my emails and exchange emails from coming in?

:headbang:

I still get my emails with data off in the background

Hey OMJ. First of all great ROM man. I've been using yours since day 1. I hope you dont get tired of hearing people complimenting your work. I've tried using other ROMs and they are not as stable. Anyhow as I am sure you know, the new OTA update includes Swype. I didnt notice that apk in your newest update and was wondering are you going to include it?

Thanks again and Merry Christmas.

I'm still using 1.7 because it renders the best batery life I've ever seen on an evo rom. I can't get more than 3/4 of a day out of anything else. Short of the alarm clock not working there seems to be very little benifit in any of the 2.2 roms when they simply don't make it thru the day. I read where some users are suggesting good battery life and I can't figure out how they do it. Consistently across the board all the roms I try after froyo or 2.1 even are terrible for battery life. They say that you can t use advanced task killer with froyo and supposedly dont need to but why the big difference in between all the new roms and your 1.7 rom. Nothing gives the battery life it does.

it might be the different kernel builds

Never Mind- runing the usb thru a usb hub was causing problem.

[I cant mount as disk drive with newer rom. Is it a driver issue? I'm running latest OMJ rom - did fullwipe but thi shappened with another rom too. I uninstalled HTC Sync and re-installed latest version to get the latest drivers. Is this related to Caulekins usb fix?]

Well, I really can't find an answer to this. For some reason the phrase "4G Disconnected" doesn't return any results.

Just updated to the most recent version of this rom (v4.2) and now I can't get my 4G to connect. Antenna turns on and scans, but then just goes to "disconnected." I can't access any of the options from the settings menu. My wife's stock EVO can connect to 4G with strong signal, but I got nothing.

I've verified that I still have my RSA keys through the Terminal Emulator method. Updated my profile and PRL post flash. Hardware Info: HW version 0002, 4G MAC address is listed as "unavailable." Thought that might be weird. Don't know what other info would help diagnose my problem. I tried flashing the new Radio/WiMax/PRI combo, but that didn't help. Radio 2.15.00.11.19, WiMAX 27167_R01, PRI version 1.90_003, PRL Version 60674. Anything else you'd need to know to attempt to help out?

Admittedly, I never was able to connect to 4G before flashing to v 4.2. However, I was on an old version of OMJ that I thought maybe didn't support 4G yet.

Thanks for any help.

happened to me with my 1st evo... just wouldnt connect, after my replacement, in nov.... after the whole hboot2.02 and all that mess..
1. make sure you have reception, probably do this outside...
2. ##786# hopefully doing that 1 or twice... should do the trick..

this was my original link.. hope that helps...

Thanked Mdiaz.

Sorry for my noobness, but will a factory reset wipe out everything on my phone? Contacts, Programs, Data, Pics, maybe even ROM? Obviously I just flashed to 4.2. I have everything backed up so not a big deal. I just don't want to do it at work if it'll clean me out entirely.

Thanks again.
