Despite it happening to both of you it's gotta be your devices/set up.

OMJ makes rock solid ROMs so it aint that ;)

For systematic instability like that you either 1) didnt get a clean wipe, 2) didnt get a complete download of the ROM, 3) have a corrupted SD card, 4) you have an ungodly number of SMS/MMS/emails that you are trying to hold on to and the system is revolting, 5) have installed some mod that is causing the issue (unlikely that you both installed/made the same mod tho)

First what recovery are you using? If you are using Clockwork I'd suggest flashing over to amon RA recovery. You can do this from ROM Manager-select the Flash Alternate Recovery option within the menu.
Second, if you are on amon-did you/how did you wipe prior to install? I would reflash but first do a complete wipe-factory reset 2X's and wipe Dalvik 2X's. While not required for every flash you may have something causing the instability that needs to be wiped clean.
Third, clean up your inboxes. Some users try to maintain messages in the hundreds or even thousands and while this usually just results in a system slow down may be causing some instability.
If that doesnt do it then I would back up and then reformat your SD card with fats32. You may have to be conservative with the files you put back on the card in case its a specific file that was corrupted.

Good luck and happy bug hunting.

Thanks. That's what I needed to know. I am running Amon recovery, probably not the latest version.

I'm wiping the SD card and reformatting. I'll only put my docs and files back, but will do a wipe (2x) and fresh flash and reinstall manually without using a backup. I love the phone and it's 50 times better than my old TP2 (which the wife has now). This one actually works! :) I figured it was a problem with software on my device and not something widespread since no one had mentioned it.

Thanks!

I've been reading some comments about the 3.30 ROM not being meant for EVO versions 1-3, and causing bad battery life. Battery life to my seems not as good...

Well, I messed around with some contact stuff and it seemed to go away but I didn't run it very long before I re-flashed 4.0 anyway. Been about a day now since I re-flashed and haven't seen it since :) ... one thing I did differently on this flash was not remove Friendstream post-flash. I had noticed that when I removed friendstream but still tried to run Facebook for HTC... that the contacts synced fine but the live stream would always hang up. I'm figuring that although you can have FB or HTC installed and running w/o friendstream installed that the syncing of the live feed portion (of FB for HTC) must be using something from friendstream to accomplish this. I have no idea if this is what was causing my process.android.acore issues... or if the re-flash... or if the messing around with the contacts... or God knows what fixed my issue (as it seems to go with this error) but since it's gone i don't think it is a 3.30 issue (just imho)

As far as battery... I couldn't say, I went ahead and broke down and bought the $55 extended from the Sprint store and love it! I think the back is the sleekest most non-cumbersome option out there and actually gives you some nice finger placement ergonomics :) ... what I'm now wondering is whether one of the 3000 or 3500 mah batteries would fit behind this cover since it's only a 2600??

I am having the exact issue where the sync icon has been on since i flashed to 4.0. I keep fb and fb for htc sense, but always take out friend stream. I wonder if 4.0x will fix that. I am waiting for the changelog, but already see OMJ has uploaded it.

I would suggest re-flash 4.0 but don't remove Friendstream this time... I think FB for HTC is using functions from it to update the live feed function in FB for HTC

@ OMJ, you ever hear back from Cyanogen about implementing the IE6 user agent setting?

Ok, little more research and here's where I'm at...
I think the stock AOSP browser actually has the ie6 user agent string built in maybe. Found some info where ppl had ported it off the N1 because of this function (or were just pointing out this function)

I think Calk may be the guy to hit up for this since he has been modding the HTC browser to behave more like the stock AOSP browser... maybe he will look into this for you (us) if you ask him. :) Found a little video showing some differences b/t the two, it doesn't show the user agent switch but, like I said, I did read the the stock 2.1 off the N1 had this option so I doubt they removed it from the AOSP 2.2 version.

YouTube - HTC Sense UI Browser vs Stock Android Browser

Here's is some info on the 2.1 port talking about the UA string stuff...

Well ... after a complete wipe and manual reinstall, everything seemed great. Until I turned off my Bluetooth to plug it in. The device reset itself while it was charging. It appears that disconnecting the BT will do reset the device. ... But that's the only time I've seen it so far.

I am also seeing superfast response with v4 and no other problems other than huge battery drain...

I just downloaded the 3.29 version and will try that for a while...

Carp! 1st time with a problem flashing my EVO...

1 hour later and numerous flashes (wipes and so on) and it winds up being the SD card? (Had to replace it, never had 1 fail before) i am gonna hate being back at 8GB until i can get a new 16 (or maybe a 32...)

Oh well thats Flashing.... well up running the 3.29.651.5 RUU and will report back on Battery / response and so on...
