If it's true, I'm sure a better FLASHABLE solution will be coming out.. OMJ did mention a page or 2 back that he finally got it to work and noticed a difference.. But if you read the threads, it was a MESS... too many instructions, then it was down to just backing up (nand) and doing the ##786# or ##3282#..

:disgust:

The HOAX allegations are on the ORIGINAL instructions, not the ones OMJ and I posted. The OP did unrevoked forever and then a combination of steps. I do not know the validity of his claims but after reading his posts there was no way I was going to try it.
Party on! :headbang:

EDIT:actually not sure who posted the steps listed in green on Post #1 but the MOD has a edit time/date stamp on the post.

No files needed Bro.
I recommend loading a non-themed ROM just in case, and going at it from there.

Just follow the prompts, clicking ok along the way as if the phone were brand new. Yes do the PRL update and it will say "checking for firmware update....no firmware available" but you WILL have it when it works even though it says it didnt. Just verify via Menu/settings/about phone/ software info

GOT IT!!!!

Took me about 5 or 6 tries but OMJ's steps finally got it for me. I came at it from "stock" deodexed ROM, no theme.

I left the xda instructions up in my other post as another option as it's reported to work too.

It may just be multiple attempts are needed.

Ok, Help me out here... PLz... I just got my MSL using CDMA which BTW here is the thread for those that want to get it without calling Sprint and making sprint curious as to why you want to access your phone guts:mrgreen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697487

Ok.. I'm running OMJs v2.1 deodexed NO THEMES. I'm stock. I am running netarchys 4.0.3a kernel. Do I have to revert to anything of just do a Nand backup via RA Recovery?

If I do the backup and follow OMJs instructions in prevuious thread, I'm deleting EVERYTHING after backup and then I gotta try to PRI update using my MSL. If I'm successful, can I then restore my Nand backup? Is that the point of the backup? Or will I have to flash some other stuff?

I'm still a tad confused on this deal.. I would hate to loose root on this,...

This doesnt touch root.
Yes, as always do a Nand, just in case. I got some boot loops so the nand will allow you to "start over" if that happens.
You could restore your nand when your done or try out the NEW ROM OMJ just linked
I think OMJ got it in one shot, took me about 6, the original instructions I posted from xda said it took him 15 tries.

New OMJ ROM is smoking!! Has the latest netarchy kernel and the PPCG "mods" (just wallpaper and themed kb)

OMJ-themed kb was FCing all over the joint, installed the one I had on my card right over it without an uninstall and all is beautious!

Thanks Bro!!
