PPCGeeks - [FINAL] OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.6 | FroYo 3.70.651.1

Ok i have this latest rom and everything was cool besides the ghost screen touches especially with swype. But this issue is with the camera. there is an option in the camera settings for widesceen. the box is initially checked but when i unchecked it the camera automatically forced close and continues to do that even after a reboot. the strange thing is i can access the camcorder but once i try switching to camera it force closes. can anyone help me.

I'm now having the same problem with the camera. I tried OMJ's recm.

went back to stock32 kernel.
Reboot.
set camera to 8MP
back to recovery mode
installed omj froyo 2.2 kernel.
reboot

go into Camera..

force close every time.

Ideas?

so based on my testing, I think the ROM w/ the custom kernel will be capped @ 3 mp, the only way I get 8 mp w/ the custom kernel was to flash the stock kernel rom, change camera to 8 mp, then flash the custom kernel

My camera settings are already on 8mp since the begining so i just flash but i found camera with 3mp

that's the glitch, the settings will say 3 mp, but the pix will be 8 mp....after I flashed the rom w/ stock kernel, then changed camera to 8 mp, then flashed the custom kernel...I didnt even check the settings, dont want to jinx it....but I posted my pix sizes, and that's the tell tell

I vote deodexed w/ modded kernel.

Regarding the 3MP vs 8MP camera I also get what appears to be 8MP. And the files are all slightly larger which leads me to believe HTC might have eased up on the compression a bit. And, carefully reviewing my pictures on 2.2, the quality seems slighty better, at least to my eyes compared to 2.1.

Thank you for this awesome ROM; I really can't believe how happy I am with the EVO. I love this phone and I love this ROM. :mrgreen:

I saw something similar on the Stock OTA ROM.
I factory resetted, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, (2X's each) reflashed the ROM (dont set it up), flashed the kernel.
Sometimes the kernel needs a completely clean install.
