Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.1 Custom ROM | Eclair | *Updated | 6/8/10*

I rooted my phone using these directions: http://www.androidcentral.com/evo-4g-root-instructions

And then installed the ROM using recovery mode with the zip, it installs with no errors, but when my phone reboots after that, it seems as if the ROM didnt flash. I still have all of the sprint apps, etc are still there.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Thanks.

So far so good. I've gotten a few apps closing on me, but I haven't played w/ it too much to figure out if I can reproduce what happened. I never really got to play around w/ the old radio either so I don't know if the new one is better for me or not, but it's working fine.

FYI -
Your links in the 1st post are a little confusing.

You have
OMJ EVO 2.1 Eclair v1.2 linked to OMJ_EVO_2.1_Beta_1.1.zip

and you have

DOWNLOAD linked to OMJ_EVO_2.1_Eclair_v1.2.zip

Yeah both of you boot into recovery mode and wipe cache, galvic-cache and factory reset. Then report back. Everything should be working fine.

(I Hope this post makes sense I am rather drunk)

I would say do like we did in the WM days. Start over. Follow the directions in my siggy and make sure to do the Wipe sections as described. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=123714

Did you install OMJ_EVO_2.1_Beta_1.1.zip or OMJ_EVO_2.1_Eclair_v1.2.zip.

Version Beta_1.1 has the sprint apps. The links on the 1st post are backwards.

Also, any OS speed improvements over the stock Rom?

Thanks

I can't say that 4g tethering works since I havent tried, but 4g DOES work with this ROM.

After I installed this, it would just keep cycling through the Sprint 4G bootup animation..... :( what did I do wrong?

Doesn't seem like you did the Data Wipe and the Dalvik cache wipe.

Woops, I accidently wiped the cache instead of the factory wipe. I went back and did the factory and it works fine now.
