Hey Ken, battery life is great on this rom. 63% after 12 hours. moderate usage. used the web for at least 30 minutes today included downloads, limted video, 2 emails accts syncing, one(exchange every 30) minutes few calls, sms. etc. Not too shabby. tells me this could easily last a good 24 hrs before charging. on the original stock, was dead around 18hrs!

wimax question/help.

My Evo is running AWESOME on the new ROM cooked up by OMJ 1.47.651.1 v1.7 (Thx, dude) my Radio is 2.05.00.06.10 (which are the latest releases...) the Only thing I can't update for some reason is the wimax radio. I've flashed it twice without errors but it's not taking the update?? Am I supposed to flash it a different way other than through recovery mode (Flash from zip or sd card - can't remember exactly what the screen says..)

I went to adb shell and typed wimax_mtd and threaded back up to the report. and it shows the old radio 25043. I downloaded radio 25641, flashed it and NADA... WTF..

The odd thing is that everything (that I can tell) is running great. Unfortunately Miami doesn't have 4g yet so I'm not sure if that would be a problem..??

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong.. Or if I should bother trying to update to that newer wimax radio? Like I said, everything seems to be running good.

I even noticed a HUGE increase in my data speed. I'm getting mobilespeedtest's at 1356kbps after the OMJ v1.7 before it I was in the 400 to 600 range... So I don't want to mess a good thing up...

Any suggestions, ideas, comments, etc, etc... Please let me know.

Thanks

The same thing happens when I try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915

Please help!!

i had the same thing happening for quite some time and it was very frustrating...fully rooting fixed the problem immediately.

Lemme guess, you flashed OMJ 1.7 ROM2? That would explain your issue.
ROM1 is the one to flash to get the proper OTA updates including but not limited to the latest wimax. If you flashed the "normal" way through Recovery and you didnt already have the proper OTA updates you didnt flash the right ROM.
ROM1 is in the PC36IMG format. It needs to be placed on your SD card (named properly) and as long as your Nand is unlocked the file will run. Dont know how you rooted but if you did Toast I AND II you are all set.
Read my post HERE to see how to verify you completed the root process.

OK this is killing me. I upgraded using ROM 1 the day it came out and everything went great. I even used my 4g tethering in a hotel in Salt Lake because it was so much faster than the hotel internet. Yesterday, WiMax just quit on me. We have 3 of these phones and the other 2 can connect to WiMax. I tried rebooting but it did not help. I did find that while I was using WiMax tethering, I had to reboot once or twice.

Any ideas? Should I reinstall the WiMax update? If so, which update is safe to apply? Link???

Instead of rebooting the phone did you try turning 4G OFF/ON?
Dont know if this applies to you but 4G RE-connecting is apparently an issue for some.

go into you ## setting and change your wimax reconnect time from 5min to 10 - 15 seconds, cause when it drops which it normanlly do the reconnect time is too long.

I recall seeing this somewhere before. I'll give it a shot. The trouble is I can't get it to connect or see the 4g network at all now....hmmm

What's the ## keys again for this? Is it ##debug# ?

You tried Post #29 in that thread?

Maybe Nygel can confirm if this is the same setting he was talking about?
