my battery was around 40% is there something in android that won't let you load a file if under a certain percentage? thats the only thing i can think of as it makes no sense at all.

Can you make a video of it and post it? Maybe that will help us understand a little better what exactly is happening.

What is it named? And by that I mean when you look at it on the root of your card what does it say exactly?

it just says PC36IMG, i didn't put an extra .zip in there or anything like that.

i download the file to my desktop, drag the file to my sd card root. power off. hold down and power and get to the white boot screen then it finds the file and i get the following:

sd checking...
loading...[PC36DIAG.zip]
no image!
loading...[PC36DIAG.nbh]
no image or wrong image!
loading...[PC36IMG.zip]

CHecking...[PC36IMG.zip]

then it just goes right back to the original screen with

FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB

any ideas?

Well it's not seeing your file. Are you still connected to the PC after you transfer the file over? If you are then you are proably still connected as a disk drive which will not allow the contents of your card to be recognized.
Switch to Charge only with USB debugging enabled (prob doesnt matter-but just in case) Or disconnect from the PC after properly unmounting the phone.

Not necessarily. Check your settings. If the file is not corrupt, and is named correctly then if it sees it it runs with it.

If you are set to charge only with USB debugging enalbed and it's still not going then my only thought is back to the file name.
Naming it PC36IMG is correct if your file extensions are hidden.

If they arent then you need to name it PC36IMG.zip

When I look at it on my PC my file extension are hidden and it's PC36IMG.

When I look at it on my card, which doenst hide extensions then it's PC36IMG.zip
You said it was PC36IMG on your CARD, you prob gotta add the .zip

If so can i just reboot and do my original nand back up? man I am not ready to spend all day re applying my settings plus finding all my apps freak I am not even sure I can remember all my apps and what they are.

Thanks for any and all help.

Edit maybe I am jumping the gun here I am trying to nand restore now and so far so good so if thats the case I can see how I lost root? So why did ti say I lost it.. starting to feel like I forgot something really dumb like signing into google or something.

Well if you can get into Recovery to access your Nand backup then you did not lose root. Verify with another App like ROM Manager.
Maybe it's an error within TiBackup. Try and click Problems and install a new Busybox and see how she runs after that. If it's still the only app telling you that then uninstall it and go re-DL from the Market.
EDIT-Yeah that could be it. Run your Paid version, not the Free one included with the ROM.

yeah, i don't get it man. it is definitely named PC36IMG.zip if i choose to show the filename in astro on the evo. i double checked this as well by putting the micro sd card into the computer slot via the SD adapter.

i also tried putting the file on a completely blank micro sd card and got the exact same results. i'm just downloading the same file as everyone else and not renaming or doing anything differently.

could it be i have to be FULLY rooted with this rom? i know i have done everything but nan unlock and never saw a real need for me personally do do the last step to unlock. in the past i could always flash with my current unlocked state.
