If you want to try out cooking, you can play around with the HTC Android Basic Kitchen, v0.53. I have built a few ROMs off of it that work fine. You just have to make sure you are rooted with Toast's method to get to the modified boot menu to flash.

Just an update. I got the basics down but there are a few issues. It is a little difficult to troubleshoot with someone else online. So, someone is being very very kind and sending me a Evo. So, as soon as this arrives I hope to have a release within 48 hours. Since the framework is already laid, I just have to find the errors in my process. It is coming and soon.
