Mystery,
Thank you so much for creating such a great rom. I just flashed the WM6.5/Sense2.5 today and wanted to share some thoughts/questions I came across.

1) Is there an option somewhere to set how many days of emails to keep on the phone? The shipped rom has this option in the email account setup dialogs. I have over 10000 emails spanning several years, don't want them all to download to my phone!

This hasn't changed. Just go to start, messaging, menu, options, click on email accout, hit next, and look for a place to change "download the past". It differs if using exchange vs IMAP, etc. You'll have to look and figure it out.

2) Do we know yet how to move the email storage location for WM6.5 to the Storage Card? I have tried the regedit that was working in the shipped rom, but emails are still being stored in \Windows\Messaging.
not sure, you can change attachment storage in start, messaging, menu, options, storage.

3) Looking for a task manager option to set applications to close on X rather than minimize. Holding down X does not exit an application either, so I see the only way to completely close an app is to open the task manager and close the app?
Some choices for 6.5.x:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...03&postcount=3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606162
For 6.5, HTCTaskmanager works.

4) GoogleMaps gps is way off. Thinks I'm in San Diego when I'm in Los Angeles. The weather app picked my city correctly though, so not sure why google maps is not.

5) GoogleMaps seems to be installed to the device, not the Storage Card. On this device we all have 4 gigs of internal storage, why not use it? All that cache data eats up available memory quickly.
It's probably an error with google's servers, not the program on your phone. Try it in a different area. For 5, you cannot cook a program in the ROM that will be on the storage card/internal storage. Even if you did have it install to internal storage during customization, the cab itself would be cooked into /windows negating any space saved.

Geez man, the long multi-part question was answered but my probably relatively simple question about finger menus was ignored?! :( I know know... I'm whining.

Thanks, wouldn't have found that without your help. I was trying to get there from the manila interface which doesn't show all the options.

Looks like after a few soft resets the WM6.1 regedit is working!

Thanks for the choices. I was wondering if there was a way to just edit the taskmanager that's already included? Anybody know which taskmanager is built into this release?

Bummer. I don't really see how it can be a problem on the google server, if my previous version of googlemaps worked fine. I wish there was some way to remove and reinstall it, but its cooked in... :(

if anyone else needs this

regedit on the phone

HKLM - System - Inbox - Settings

created a string called "PropertyPath" without the quotes
the value will be \Internal Storage\folder of your choice\

if you have attachments saved to the internal storage you will see a value called "AttachPath" you can also change this to something else.

Diamonds called their memory "Internal Storage" Other devices also use "Storage Card" use whatever matches your device.

Mystery, Sent you a PM on the Yearly Reminder/Birthday/anniversary contact/appt problem. Figured out that it is something that was broken with the original Sprint Rom too....

I loaded this patch from MS with a blank phone before Activesync and now everything is fine:

(I only had to soft reset it two times within the past two days..shit knock on some wood) :violent1:

on this rom for 3 days... froze up while charging last night. Have no idea why. There weren't any alarms set or calendar items coming up, which is what mostly caused this problem in the stock rom.

I installed a previous version of googlemaps over the top of this cooked install and the gps works fine now. Something must be wrong with the version that is cooked in. The "Show on Map" function in the contacts still works with this fix. Version 3.0.1.6

Googlemaps works great for me. Found my location almost immediately. Did you make sure QuickGPS had done a recent sync?

Then in Googlemaps did you go to Menu->options->use GPS? They changed the location after 3.2 I think... otherwise I think it just uses radio tower triangulation.

I am not sure if this is the way bg4all is supposed to work, but the background in the HTC messaging, contacts and sometimes the wireless manager will not go to white; it stays the same as the background which makes most the things I mentioned unreadable since it's black text on black. I did the flash dance before flashing. Anyone else getting this?

EDIT: I seem to have gotten the white background back, for now at least!

Yes, same thing here. The white background seems to get smaller and smaller until the whole background is gone. Then randomly it will be back again. I have no idea why.

Did you try the newer file on your diamond without the Contact and Calendar info in it?

You have to install these before you sync any data.

Also, if you clear storage, you will probably erase the patch. You can see if it's loaded because it will be in the Remove Programs app.

Been running Rom version Sense 2.5 28014 Dec.28.2009 for over a week now and I'm soo happy :D

Finally figured it out how to get my phone keypad T9 back on by following the step posted back in Step#1: [#] Change to Phone Keypad or qwerty by going to Utilities>SIP>ezinput Change.cab Thanks indagroove
Made typing soo much easier.

So far everything that is important to me works so far:
Microsoft Exchange--synchronize my work email and calendar
MMS seems to work Archsoft MMS, ppcgeeks thread# 61802, still havent fully tested it yet.
WiFi Router works great
Facebook integration works with the Contact List
The weather tab, below the clock, shows my location and the current temperature.

Thanks Mystery!

This rom works really great! Love it!

Is there any facebook app or tab like the twitter one? And is there a way to install a link in the htc album for direct facebook upload?

I see under start -> settings -> system there is the uploader, i don't know what its for cause i used to use it for the facebook direct upload.

Hey, I am also liking the rom a bunch, thanks!

Does anyone notice, or is it just me, that if you hit the right side of the quick links (apps) that it launches the next one over? Like, I have File Explorer in the top left slot, and BeyondPod in the one to the right of it, and if I hit File Explorer in the left or middle, it works, but if I press it on the right side of it, the File Explorer Icon goes down and back when I release, but it launches BeyondPod. Strange.

I'm using Sprint Sense 2.5 28014.

Do you like Sense 2.1 a lot better? I can;t get over how sweet the 2.5 looks... but it does seem to be just a little buggy, although not anything I haven't been able to live with. I've never used Sense 2.1 so I'd be scared to switch for the stability because I don't know what I'd be giving up.

About the only thing you'll be giving up with 2.1 are the link boxes on the home page. Everything else is pretty much the same, including the my location weather in the clock. You also have the traditional programs tab. Manila 2.1 seems to really fit the Diamond without all the bugs. My favorite is to use it with a WM 6.1 build ... get the new look with all the stability of 6.1, and everything working as it should. If you'd like to try it ...

Agreed,

Waraxe you should definitely give sense 2.1 a whirl. It's faster, and does 90% of what 2.5 can do. Sense 2.1 was made for our devices, well 500ish processors that is. There is a great tweak site to to really get you most of the 2.5 look and feel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605252 post 3. Also, I would definitely recommend Wmdunn sense rom. Its clean, customizable and very stable!

I've been running this rom for a few days, and it's been working very well for me. Very few graphical bugs, smooth animation, and really superb layout (I prefer the 3 column start menu, and the organizational structure you chose works really nicely). Very polished.

I noticed I had trouble syncing my contacts from my MacBook (via Missing Sync), but that's a small concession for a great rom. thanks.

i think the graphics bug u talking about is due to mystery using a non vga htcframework in the rom (the whole calendar and such)

i made a cab to fix it:
http://hotfile.com/dl/24785457/0728a...a_fix.cab.html
it should fix some things for u.
if u got more problems let me know, probably can be solved.

Okay... flashed Mystery's Sense 2.1 28014 and here are my thoughts.

Very fast and not buggy at all. I miss the Twitter tab, the way 2.5 formats favorite people, and the way 2.5 allows for ANYTHING to go into program favorites (the otherwise program tab). But, I think I prefer Sense 2.1's strengths over Sense 2.5's... but it wasn't an easy decision. :-)
