Ok, 28002 v1.2 has been repackaged & uploaded...

WM 6.5.3 28002 v1.2
(last updated 12/1)

fyi---I just noticed a typo in the reg settings for the updated messaging

Code:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
; Messages Font Size ( 0 - 8 )
"People.Message.FontSize"==dword:00000002

because of the 2 == the reg key is there, but is set to 0 instead of 2. I think 0 sets the font to the smallest size, just wanted to point it out for those flashing this latest version 1.2....I fixed it in the cab

I have to wait for a while for the curser to blink in the message screen. Any fixes out there? Anyone else having the same problem? PLease help!

The lag is caused by the HTC messaging client trying to load all your messages to that page. The new messaging fix on 28002 1.2 should take care of that. If you are still on the older ROM version with the HTC messaging client i would recommend updating.

As for your cache question, I think right now its not configurable*, its happens to be wherever you installed opera. It is possible to install Opera on your storage device if you want too(with then end result being your cache is located on your storage device too).. I'm sure if you can find one here or on XDA. If there is not I can cab it up as I am sure you are not the only one asking that question.

Thank You for your reply. I have the cab that OMJ uses it works fine when installed on the storage card but the newer versions of the ROM have opera built in the EXT so you cant uninstall it. Its not a big problem i can change two options and add /Internal Storage in the beginning of the cache folders. Updating to today's 1.2 version.

Damn you are fast on these stuff cant wait to update. I kinda hated the old messaging coz how long it takes to load all the messages to one page. Its not functional when you text like 100 messages a day. Thank You again for all your support to the community. I agree with who ever told you to have a donate button atleast i can buy you a shot over the web. :drunken:

no, you dont have to do anything....I confirmed it's just setting the default font size....with the typo the reg key is set to 0 meaning it's just a smaller size font, but you can easily change to whatever size looks good to use via the messaging app

Running 23504 and when I add a new contact it doesn't give me an option to store as 'First, Last', it defaults to 'Last, First'. My imported contacts are store "First, Last'. Looked at all the contacts option, unless I'm missing it. Any ideas? Is this a WM 6.5 thing?

Every once in a while (it happened once since I have been using this) when you sync exchange it will force the policy again, just run this app again.

With this rom there is an issue with the pin settings, it says failed to save lock settings, or something like that... but it still works.

Thanks qwho! I have been getting pretty sick of having to hard reset everytime I rebooted the phone! This works perfectly although me being in IT and being the one enforcing the corporate policies I don't think my company will think its so awesome. I wish there was another way to get this fixed. i know some of the other 28002 builds aren't having the problem. That being said the other rom's don't compare to this rom so for now i will run it..... illegally in my corp for now :silent:

HTC Messaging doesn't give you that option in and of itself... you have to go all the way to the bottom and hit "more". This will launch the native WM client where you can change to First, Last. So you can enter most of the info in the HTC Messaging client if you want then just open the native to change that with the more button.

Had this problem a long time ago when I imported all my contacts it flipped em all to "last, first" and it drove me crazy! Anyways, I found this little program. I used it with the shipped sprint 2.00 rom, but hopefully it'll still work for you.

Here's something interesting...just today I have a new photo album called Youtube in Album options on the manila tab. The album contains what looks to be the thumbs from what shows in the YouTube app on the first screen...Most Viewed. It is, just checked. Is it normal for those thumbs to be stored as jpeg's? And does the HTC album have to pick up that folder up as an album? I suppose it looks for anything with pictures in it. Anyone else run into this. Using 23504 build.

Also, a new album called 100MEDIA in a DCIM folder in internal storage. The last 3 pics I took with the phone went to that folder, all others before that went to My Pictures. Not sure why the change???

I am also looking for some kind of dialer skin cabs that work with this dialer set up. i'm not sure why they are so hard to find . mighty mike/rico used to have some and so did k dialers (in glossy and tech) but neither of them work well. they distort the way the keypad looks and works. but any of those might be a good starting point for someone to jump off at...........someone more patient and talanted than me!

As a side note, the full qwerty will pop up from time to time when your cursor is in a password field but it goes back to phone keypad after.

I have taken a look at the app.reg of the newer ezinputs vs. the older 1.5 versions and see some differences. The problem is that the newer ones don't have a reg key IsSipInputMethod for anything other than the Full Qwerty... The problem is I don't know which CLSID is for "phone keypad" and "compact qwerty" or I think I may be able to get this problem fixed because it bothers the hell out of me too!!! Maybe I'll spend some more time on it.

do you mean like the hex code for the different sips? i'd found those once (in an effort to change the registry to enable the phone pad on juicy8, it did, could also force it to compact qwerty, but in both instances any key press just brought up the particular keys numeric value rather than the letters)
this isn't the same thing i found before but it is a reference part way down the page and its for wm5 so not sure how valid it is anymore i know its not the same 4 number code i was changing before

Hey OMJ, here is the xperia x2 task manager I was referring to. It works well with th 6.5.x builds and finally brings multitasking to 6.5.x. NRG uses it in his ROMs which is where I found it but I am switching back to your ROM for stability reasons. I hope that v1.2 is as solid as was v1.1. I'll let you know soon.

I was thinking the same thing. This is the only thing missing from the 6.5.x builds.

OMJ, I put 6.5.3 v1.2 through the tests I can't find any bugs what so ever. Great build. This thing is rock solid and lightning fast. Fastest rom I've flashed so far. We'll see how battery life is after a full day tomorrow. Thanks for all the hard work.

No i use this reg...
HKLM\Software\HTC\ezsip
change "BioToShowMenu" DWORD=1 (this will force the sip menu so you can change to phone keypad) (the dword defaults back to 0 but the phone keypad stays)

And yes it functions properly with ABC, and XT9

As far as the other, no i didn't mean HEX Code... Here's what i was talking about...

So they changed something and the problem is that in the CLSIDs above, I don't know which ones (if any) are tied to the "Phone Keypad" and "Compact QWERTY" in order to enable IsSIPInputMethod=1. As you see in the 1.5 version you can tell which CLSID is associated with each keyboard.

If you trial and error it and one of them work let me know

Hope that helps

BTW, I'm a CR2 dirver for ASA, how bout you?

No i use this reg...
HKLM\Software\HTC\ezsip
change "BioToShowMenu" DWORD=1 (this will force the sip menu so you can change to phone keypad) (the dword defaults back to 0 but the phone keypad stays)

And yes it functions properly with ABC, and XT9

As far as the other, no i didn't mean HEX Code... Here's what i was talking about...

This is a part of the app.reg for the SIP - EzInput 1.5.32437.0 EXT

Look at the parts i bolded, these are present in the 1.5 version of ezinput and why they show up on the sip menu. The problem with the 2.x and newer ezinput is that these regs aren't present in the app.reg

Here is part of the 2.x app.reg...

yikes ok, so what are the missing reg keys going to do for his latest rom? i guess i missed what functionality is awry if we need different keys? because i fi can get the menu up once to bring back the phonepad to t9 with instead of qwerty and it sticks, i'm burning it to my phone tomorrow
sorry if i'm missing something obvious, just got up a bit ago and only half way thru my first coffee after working out so brains not up to speed yet lol
plus even though i've just had the phone a year i didn't really start getting into doing all this kinda editing till the last month or so (on a very limited basis cause i dn't want to brick my phone while i'm on the road)

oh i'm in the dhc8 @ pdt (formerly alg)

Same for me, I think it's a problem with the host site, if you go there it is running poorly as well.
