Replacing ROMs

I have taken the advice of others who've suggested trying different ROM's to settle on one. However, before I do this, I need some help with changing from one to the next. The phone has been unlocked, but are there certain procedures I need to follow to remove the current ROM (one I've downloaded, not stock) and put a new one on. Or if anyone can point me to a stick/instructions that would be just as good.

Thanks

just follow the same procedure as you did for the first time flash, there no extra steps needed if youve already got a custom rom on ur phone.

It's the same thread I linked you to yesterday, BigBen. It is a great first-time resource.

For each fresh flash you do, you will do it the same exact way, and it will "overwrite" the first one.

DryBonz is correct, it will overwrite.

Make sure you read up on this flashing stuff before jumping in. You can BRICK your phone if you do it incorrectly.

That's a great thread on how to do the change.
I wanted to install the new rohdium menus but it says it requires certain build of the ROM for it to work.
Now, are the builds they are referring to custom or are they M$ or HTC updates that have been released?

Each custom rom is based on a particular system ... you need a system that begins with at least 21 ... such as 21028, 21018, etc ...

Thanks for the quick response, is there a thread that has those systems listed? where can I find them?

It's in the subject line of each thread for most of the custom roms.

Thanks, but maybe I didn't explain myself very well. i'm new at this and y may not have all the terms down yet (yes I read the thread and the sweet glossary at the beginning).
Are the custom ROMs based on a system build, eg. 21028?
So if I wanted to find a stock 21028 or the fact that it is 21028 means that it is a custom ROM.
In other words is 19965 is the only stock ROM (for sprint) and all other builds are Custom or is the 19965 the stock sprint ROM, M$ or HTC has released other builds eg. 21028 and the cooks base their ROMs on those builds since they are newer.
I guess I'm a little confused with the relationship between of ROM, System, and build. sorry for the Noobness
