If you want to know the best ROM for you, start with what seems to work for most others. If you want to know what seems to work for most others, check forum activity. A quick scan of the forum topics for heaviest activity will reveal Groove and Mighty as having the most popular Diamond ROMs... but dig deeper if you like.

Sometimes the only way to tell the usability of a ROM is to install it.

I agree that Mighty and Groove have excellent roms and are highly regarded as they should be. I think their are other factors (experience/reputation, carrier specific roms, cutting edge releases, etc) to take into consideration. For example, Rstoyguy has been cooking roms for years and has an large following from his previous device (HTC Vogue). He has a great reputation which puts him right at the top as well. I have never had a random hard reset issue with his rom and for the most part have been able to just flash away from one release to another without any minor quirks. OMJ and Juicy/JMZ should also be stongly considered for the same reason. Great reputation and experience. Moreover, Calcu and Conflipper bring so much to this table delivering cutting edge releases which many users appreciate. I would also like to give props to Mystery and Highlife for releasing new roms and their desire for feedback to improve the roms. It's important to support our new chefs and give them valuable feedback. I agree that it is all preference and you should try out as many roms as you can to gain the perspective needed to realize which roms you prefer.

You only flash a new radio once, unless you flash the stock rom (which will flash the stock radio as well). You can keep using the radio that came with the phone but if you are having battery life issues or the phone gets really hot then its time to look at a different radio.

After you Flash a new rom it is recommended that you do a hard reset or clear memory, otherwise you may encounter bugs and other issues with the phone, yes it will erase everything and you will end up with a clean install of the new rom... Thats the point :D

yes a hard reset resets it to out of box condition. download a program called PIM backer to your diamibd to back up your info lik contacts then go to the mighty rom and download that. open the file and click on somethong that says Custom_RUU and from there all is easy because it will tell you wat to do but your fone must be connected to your PC through activesync and you do all this on your pc. goodluck cuz mightys rom is beast but sadly i suck with radios

Radios... Everyone forgets to talk about the PRL. The Prefered Roaming List, this little jewell of a file tells the Radio which towers to use. I personally use what the carrier has provided with da phone...

I still have the 1.0 Radio that came with the phone. I just downloaded MightyROm and started to use it, so far everything is going well. It does use my memory though. The scroll bar is a bit too big, i notice it has a regedit built in already, what section do i go to to make the scrool bar thinner? also, any other tweaks i can use to enhance MightyRom? I have been reading a lot, but there is still lots to read :) Thanks again for everyones help. I am going to look for Themes and backgrounds now.

It's all about preference. Some people are into Mighty's ROM and I just have to say, I couldn't stand it. I had it unflashed in about an hour, I couldn't use it.

However, others live and die by it, so it's all about what you like.

I'm a big fan of GrooveROM, although Juicy by JMZ may be a good choice for you as well.

Mystery has been coming out with interesting releases, they look pretty solid.

Overall, just try a few out and see what you like.

As far as radios go, the two most widely used ones have to be the Telus 1.04, and the Sprint 1.11.

Sprint 1.11 has been hit or miss from what I hear(miss for me D:), while Telus has been fairly solid for everyone. If neither of those work for you, try the Verizon Touch Pro, as that was 2nd best for me.

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> GWE

keys are cxVsr, cyVsr, cxHsr, cyHsr.

Or something along the lines of that. H = horizontal, V = Vertical.

25 is a good finger friendly number to set it at.

You have to soft reset after reg edits.
