I think you may be on to something here. Right after I made my post, my data stopped working normally again. I do have push installed for calendar and contacts via Google Sync, and my email is configured to pull from gmail every 30 minutes. Interestingly enough, even though my other data apps were unresponsive, I was able to download my email just fine.

Something strange is definitely going on.

ok, back to 4.5.5 can't even set up hotmail email, tons of facebook errors, opera freezing...etc

I didn't get the chance to upgrade to 4.6 but perhaps I'm lucky I didn't... with all the bugs. I think 4.5.5 is stable as a 10-legged chair.

So it looks like opera may be the issue as well.. I just installed a CAB'ed version of Opera 15954 and so far I haven't lost connection.

And JMZ, If i can get these connection issues corrected you may have just handed me my perfect ROM. Thank you kindly, you've made my Diamond a phone worth keeping (6 months and counting...new record)

There have been no changes to Opera though. from 4.5 to 4.6
and its fine on my 4.5

Looks like you may be right.. the symptoms ended up duplicating even after I changed Opera

I love the HD Manilla in 4.5.5, I havent had any issues with it so far, so I am going to stay where I am at for now :D
