Re: [03-10-2009] Juicy ROM 4.14 by JMZ (CE OS 5.2.20771 Build 20771 AKU 1.4.6)

JMZ, AWESOME ROM! Installed 4.14 then 4.14.5 on my gf's TD - very fast, best I've used so far. Just 2 big things:

1) Youtube doesn't work - I did delete the existing Youtube folder and still doesn't play videos. 2) TF3D keeps wanting to rotate to landscape and when it does it's distorted since this version of TF3D doesn't support landscape.

Other than that, superb ROM! :headbang:

I have done a hard reset. I had thistrouble on 4.13. I tried searching this thread but didn't find anyone that mentioned this (so if this has been discussed then I am sorry for missing it).

I too have this problem. At first I tought it was me who was too shaky but your confirming me it's a real bug in the rom.

Also I'd like to point out I had some call loosing issues in perfect coverage area. I think it's due to the gsensor beeing active in the dialer because when I lose a call I check my phone and the dialer is either in landscape mode or in portrait mode but the graphics are all messed up. I usually lose a call at the beginning of it. After 2 or 3 second once the other pick up. If I get pass that, the call will stay connected.

So is the a way to disable the gsensor in the dialer to test my theory?

Windows LIVE mail solution

Hotmail/Live mail has generally been HTTP only, but they just released their free Live mail POP3 server.
---> Check it out RIGHT HERE.
This means that you don't have to use Windows live to get your mail, you can use the mail setup wizard on your phone instead. you should use the settings below:

**
The first thing it asks is for your email address. It should be your Windows Live ID, without the @hotmail or @live part.
for example yourname@.com---- This stops you from being redirected to mobile.live.com!!
**

POP server: pop3.live.com
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for exampleyourname@live.com---- This stops you from being redirected to mobile.live.com!!
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server:
smtp.live.com
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required?
Yes

God Luck!

--OH and thank you JMZ for your efforts. I went to sleep and now this thing is +80 posts, and another ROM update!!

will that disable it altogether? its useful mostly, but in tf3d and the phone its annoying. if it cant be disabled in just certain apps id vote for using the original gsensor until things get worked out. loving the rom otherwise!

the camera seems to be real fast... but changing 'EnableEncodePortrait' to "1" seems to lock up after taking a picture... im guessing thats why it isnt enabled in this rom?

Thanks for the hint but I don't understand how will it be better to retreive mail from the pop3 server instead of windows live. It seems easier to configure an email with the windows live method than yours. What could be the benefits?

One benefit of POP3 is the ability to sync more than 1 hotmail/live account, and if your phone doesn't have/you uninstalled Windows live, POP3 is a solution for you.

Others probably know more about the subject, I was just helping out with some knowledge :)

Great ROM!

I like the new notification manager but it doesn't go to the message when you tap on it. Is this by design or is this feature not working properly?

Thanks!
