Does flashing stock (Sprint) ROM relock it?
 

I see all these posts of trouble relocking.

I had unlocked it.

Tried Might ROM (but before doing so put the early Leaked ROM on internal storage as backup).

Decided to go to the Leaked ROM and loaded it from doing the magic dance (vol down, power, hangup, reset) and that all worked fine.

So I wanted to update my backup on internal storage I put the new official ROM on the internal storage and the magic dance no longer worked? It appears to be relocked again.

So I updated it via active sync for now.

So if it relocks it so easily why are some folks having issues relocking?

Tobey has made it fool proof, or so I thought. If you follow the instruction you will have no issues.

Yes that's a great sticky and I used it to unlock the phone.

But it does not answer my question.

Why does a relocker exist if installing a stock rom relock it?

My phone is locked again and I never downloaded or ran the relocker.

Is it perhap due to my flashing a stock rom from internal storage?

Only a relocker should relock your phone.

Although I've never flashed from internal storage... but that shouldn't make a difference.

flashing a stock from storgae does not relock your phone.. like stated above only a relocker can lock it back up, unless ur phone is malfunctioning in some way..

put your phone in bootloader mode
if it says Security Unlocked at the very top then it is still unlocked
try flashing a rom from your computer, not the hardreset way
