BACKGROUND4ALL Problems...Using the Latest MightyRom
 

*Renamed thread, Since it seems to be more of a problem then i thought

Using Telus HTC Diamond with MightyRom 4.5

I have Tried:
-Installing with and with out TF3D on
-Tried Installing the CFC GUI Patch (Seemed to be completed but got error string coudl not be found)
-Tried Installing loading pic then uninstalling.

And EVERY time i hard reset so should not be croupt files

When i install the background just go straight black. and the back ground only shows when TF3D is off.

text freezing comes with the leaked rom. its not fixable as of now. you can either go back to an old pre 2.0 rom or just deal with slight freezing.

The fix wasnt for freezing. The freezing will stop when there is a new sys base.

As said by almost everyone else, the freezing issue with the SIP will not be fixed until Mike implements a new SYS in his Rom. But as for your background for all not working, I suggest disabling TF3D and trying to uninstall it. If this doesn't work, do a hard reset and when you try to reinstall these apps, make sure you disable TF3D FIRST! If you don't disable TF3D you have a chance of corrupting some manilla files.

First hard reset you diamond since it sounds like you cant undo the things you did. Then turn of Tf3d in system/today then install this cab for background on all tabs http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...0&d=1223945516 reboot then install your clear menu cab if you still want it then reboot and then turn Tf3d back on and you should be set. And it has already been mentioned but the freezing issue is there until a new sys is released, but even with the minor freezing 4.4.5 is the most stable rom out there.

OK that musta been my problem i didnt turn of TF#D befor i installed...thanxs for the info ill try that thanxs guys!!

CFC GUI needs to compress the files you install, there is a live patch on xda.

I tried to install the patch still does not work patch insall but comes with an error i tried hard reset and made sure touchflo was off....also tried to install the CFC GUI it self but says it not a proper file

Also just relized i cant even change the back ground picture on the hom escreen as normal..with out changing anythign..

Flash back to stock rom, then flash back to the new Mighty Rom. If the problem remains I am not sure what to tell you. Try locating a different cab of this program/hack and see if it isn't just that cab is corrupt.

also just a thought ,and a problem i ran into. if your also using Diamond TF3D Config some of the settings will couteract BACKGROUND4ALL. i dont know if anyone else has had this happen but thats what i figured out was causing the problem on my TP.

as i am new to this so mabey it is an obv answer....why would i flash back to the orginal rom? then back to mighty?

Also i have tried downloading a few other cab from a few sites and a few diffrent type of progrmas to change backgrounds..so not sure if thats it

Are you changing the TF3D background or the windows today screen background?
How are you changing the background?

That's one thing with troubleshooting. I catch myself missing the small stupid things all the time. Think "stupid" solution first. :)

I am using a TELUS HTC Diamond with MR 4.5 and BG4ALL and it works just fine...

I didnt do anything special to installed it, didnt turn anything off, just ran the cab et voila...

Not insulting your intelligence or anything, but are you sure your changing your BG in the right spot?? Its under Wallpaper in the Settings TF3D tab, and NOT the today background.

Sometimes when flashing from rom to rom, sys files and such can somehow get corrupted or just weird problems start occuring. It's always best to flash back to the stock rom first and then flash to your custom rom.
But as they said make sure you go to the setting tab and change the wallpaper..don't go to today and then check the "also use this as background picture" or whatever it says. We are not insulting your intelligence by suggesting these simple things like the guy above me said, just trying to help you out:)

Haha well as i said i was new to this....the one spot i didnt look!!! lmao...i had it working befor on a diffrent rom guess i forgot had to go there...surprised it took you guys that long to figure it out :P but o thanxs very much its alright take a good laugh haha

I've installed the 4.12 ROM and I too am having problems locating the backgrounds which were installed with the mUn BackGround4AllPages v.02.cab. I have searched in all of the areas referred to earlier, wallpaper in settings and today/use this picture as the background, without any luck... Can anyone tell me where I can find these images? I've looked on my SD card and can't find them anywhere... And a mighty thankyou to Mike for an absolutely stellar ROM...

Oh boi.... Here we go... :(

Look, the background4all tabs that I posted will NOT give you a background! What it will do is enable a "selected" picture to become the background in every tab, but you have to select a image first using TF3D in the Settings Tab>Wallpaper. If you have images saved on the phone that you want present on your TF3D, just find it once you click on the wallpaper button.

This whole CFC patch etc etc, is not even needed! That's for the Manila.exe and other files that have absolutely nothing to do with wallpaper! Use the Live patch and you can break TF3D. If you go under task manager after running it you will see a box with "Start" as the text. Hit "x" on that, and you just closed TF3D :angry7:. MightyMike and myself have already done what we needed to do to make sure the CFC compression is running like it should and we don't even use it anymore, but give you guys the ability to, incase you want to, that's why you wont see white boxes on Mighty's TF3D because he made it to handle as much as possible.

To the OP, I'm not saying its wrong for you to start a new thread or anything like that, but MightyMike and myself don't get to look at the threads outside of ours. Next time please post this in his thread or PM one of us so we can try to help. If I didn't get IM'ed about this thread I would have never saw it. I know background 4 all tabs work because it has nothing to do where your TP came from, your carrier or what not, I tested it, I know what it does, and I'm more then sure it can run 100% without issues. I run it on my TP and my gf runs it on her Diamond and we have yet to have an issue.
