Yes, Jordan. Spamming the board with the same question will not increase your chances of getting an answer, and is not allowed here at PPCGEEKS (for future reference) ;)

Re: Help!!!!
so basicly you just need your ESN number?
|
Re: Help!!!!
Yea but the NVM folder is missing!

If none of those helps. Not a solution, but maybe an explanation: I have seen phones being sold on Ebay purely for parts because the phones were not issued ESN's for whatever reason, and therefore would be missing those NVM folders. Where did you acquire this phone? |

Re: Help!!!!
No one knows what you're talking about. ESN can be found under the battery, if that isn't you question, please ask it more clearly.

Re: Help!!!!
His idea is that because it has a bad esn sprint remotely deleted it, which i called a professional unlocking service company and they said that's impossible.

Re: Help!!!!
That guy's an idiot.

Re: Help!!!!
Looks like there might be just a tad bit more to this story ...
|
Re: Help!!!!
It's like they're using BitPim, thinking it's an LG phone...

Re: Help!!!!
The whole story is that my cousin had bought the phone, didn't know how to use it at all, he called me to find out how to put music on it as i had bought a GSM diamond 3-4 weeks before sprint had got it, he got into a financial situation, called sprint and told them his phone had been lost/stolen and he couldnt afford to buy another one, for them to suspend his account. He had asked me what to do with it and i said hey ill sell it for you on craigslist as a bad esn phone that could be flashed to metro pcs, find a guy he buys it then about a week later contacts me with the whole NVM folders not there and the phone is useless and maybe sprint remotely deleted it, I called an unlocking company/flashing service company that flashes phones to metro pcs they said that was garbage because the phone doesn't have drivers to do more than read data in that area of memory and would need to be connected to a computer or programming box for it to do that and i had even called sprint on it using *228 before i sold the phone, because i was reading the manuals and saw it was a command to contact sprint and wondered hey will it work since he has no service and it went through the guy at the flashing company said the phone wouldn't have dialed or connected to sprints network without the NVM folder, and said the guy is either a. jerking me off b/c he found a better deal/ or doesn't want the phone b. when he tried to flash and he accidentally cleared it and now wants me to pay him back his money or c. doesn't know what hes doing and not reading the right area. I went doing research about the issue learning to flash cdma phones etc. I started this thread to get help from the geniuses in this. I found another forum and found a tutorial on how to do it and sent that him thinking maybe he didn't do it right a week after that (yesterday) he says oh that didn't work and asking for money back as i was falsely advertising it would work with metro, I am a guy that doesn't want to have anyone hate b/c of something stupid like a sale, especially when i know i wasn't trying to scam anyone. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THIS WILL PROVIDE A CLEAR ANSWER TO IS IT POSSIBLE AND UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCE DOES IT OCCUR AND HOW AND WHATS THERE TAKE.

Re: Help!!!!
WOAH! that's a huge paragraph.
|
Re: Help!!!!
There is no 'flashing' to metro.... whoever you talked to is stupid.
You get the SPC (also called MSL), open up EPST by dialing ##778, enter the SPC, then go in and change your MSID, HDR, PPP, S.IP, MIN1, MIN2, MCC, MNC, NMSI, IMSI... and I think that's it. Most of those are just your new phone number, or phonenumber@somethingmetropcs.com. It's actually really easy (at least I think, I've never done it). But yeah, whoever was trying to flash this like an LG phone is a tool. |
Re: Help!!!!
So what your saying is you don't need a comp to do it, every tutorial says you QTSP or something like that and cant be done straight from the phone.
|
Re: Help!!!!
You should be able to do all of those from either QPST or the phone itself.
|
Re: Help!!!!

QPST is only needed to set up your data parameters for internet and mms, and to change your MSL (SPC) if needed. |

Re: Help!!!!
Im wit Sprint so no help there. You would have to search for a Metro guide, or at least find the Metro settings.
Chances are, the guy you sold it to, messed it up. Let him worry about it :geek: |
Re: Help!!!!
