Why does everyone forget to include that in oder to get to the bootloader you must PRESS THE VOL DOWN+POWER AND THE SOFT RESET BUTTON. Just the vol down button and power button yields no action.

I had the same issue where only the black HTC DIAMOND showed up when I was flashing a ROM.
VOL DOWN+POWER got me back to the bootloader screen and I was able to continue the flash.
