It's not an update - it's like re-formatting your C: drive and re-installing Windows.

You didn't back them up first? Had you synch'ed them with Outlook at any point in the recent past?

no on activesync it says i havent set up outlook yet.

Why did you even bother with this old firmware? There's a newer official ROM at

as stated before, your contacts are gone. Before you update your phone next time try one of these steps:

1. Download this program (http://www.dotfred.net/) PIM Back up and save the backup on your internal storage next time,

2. or you can use www.dashwire.com to place your contacts online.

why did they rebuild there rom couldnt they just supply the cabs for it ???
they should come up with something called smart cabs , a cab file that can remove keys put in the new keys needed for system rom updtes and so on.
because its pretty damn stupid to start over on your phone just because of some bug fixes -- yeah back everything up bla bla its still stupid-lol
