First-timer help with Kitchens?

Hey, I am trying out Calkulin's kitchen for the first time - it seems pretty intuitive right off the bat, but I need some guidance for customizations. I'm not really used to this whole standing on the shoulders of giants thing.

One of the things I would like to do is to include nueGPSSecurity 1.2 as an OEM so that the phone will stay protected even after a hard reset. Here is an excerpt from the page:

Quote:

OEM Instructions (only if you are burning it into ROM):
Use any OEMizer tool, but add the following registry entries:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3AFFFFFF-673C-494c-98A2-CC2E91A481FF}\InProcServer32]
@="nueGPSSecurity.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SM S\Rules]
"{3AFFFFFF-673C-494c-98A2-CC2E91A481FF}"=dword:1

Also be sure to add the provisioning XML in the cab (you might need a cab extractor like OCP to view it).
Here's the link to the site:
http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/pos...SSecurity.aspx

What should I do to OEM-ize this thing? I have no idea how to use the OEM-izer tool, or what I should put in the OEM directory, or how I set registry edits to automatically be imported, or even what that provisioning XML does.

Also, does anyone know if Calkulin's kitchen include fixes to enable tethering? If not, how can I add those myself? I see from this post that there are two connections I can use, which one is the correct one for tethering undetected?

Is there any place that I can look to see various tweaks (such as scrollbar size included in Mighty's ROMs) that I can include myself?

Misc. things I might as well ask here:

1) What is "UC Compatible"? I see this on the header of many ROM threads.

2) What's the tweak to make the phone dialer disappear immediately after a call as opposed to 3 seconds after ending it?

3) How do I make the screen turn off instantly when making a call (I previously installed S2U2 just for this purpose)?

Thanks, as always... I know I'm asking a lot.

You should post questions regarding a kitchen in the kitchen's thread.
