Well, here's my v4.0 ROM with S2U2 and a couple of more programs installed. I guessing it's the SYS but the write/read times of 100 files are actually quite good, especially when compared to all the other ROMs

Code:

SYS 21109

Total:  216.89 MB
In Use:  91.55 MB
Free:  125.34 MB

Spb Benchmark index 510.12 (iPAQ 3650 scored 1000)
CPU index 2242.89 (iPAQ 3650 scored 1000)
File system index 198.26 (iPAQ 3650 scored 1000)
Graphics index 1652.72 (iPAQ 3650 scored 1000)

Test Time Speed % of iPAQ 3650* speed
Write 1 MB file  590 ms  1736 KB/sec  219%
Read 1 MB file  36.5 ms  27.4 MB/sec  150%

Attached is a simplified chart of the OP's data for his iPAQ 3650. I do apologize for any typos, will fix them if pointed out.

This strong overall performance is not surprising, as your 21109 is the fastest ROM I've ever seen on a Diamond.

Wondering the same. I see in his ROM thread that he posted some beta D3D drivers. I'm guessing that had something to do with it.

I didnt ever use the beta D3D drivers. I used a different set, I cant remember where I got them out though.

Cool, can you verify that real world applications see the same benefit as shown in spb benchmark? I would definitely be interested in trying those out if at all possible.

Hey Con, try 21109 with your drivers and do a bench

at that time i am not even sure what i was using, i have chagne everything so much, i will have to flash later tongiht and see what localhook is set to, i am working on 21109 for the vogue now, it does seem very fast.

Re: [Comparison] How the Diamond roms stack up! (6 different roms)

conflippers arkaball benchmark reflects it as well.

everyone should include a benchmark with their rom release threads. but also have a strict outline of moment from reset to benchmarking to make comparisons fair
