FYI if you do try and you manage to get it to run, this version is known to make your phone freeze up on the very first startup. A soft reset will resolve the issue and the app should startup once rebooted and you shouldn't have any more issues.

Here is an older version I think. I attempted this once before. The problem with seven is it runs its setup at startup, and that sorta conflicts with the regular/conventional way that things get done. I'll take another look at it. I think this version I actually ran for a week or two, give this a try...

OEM_Seven_Mobile_Email_v7.1.5beta..............Seven Mobile Email v7.1.5(beta) Consumer Edition

edit: Looking at the OEM again, a way around that would be comment out the line in the initflashfiles.txt that copies the \windows\startup link, and then use UC (usercustomization) to copy the file so it runs on second boot. And check out s4.cereg with notepad, you may need to set it with your deviceid as well....

Hey, I just happened across this thread while looking for something else. Has anyone tried your OEM for HTC Home that you have in the second post? I was just looking at it and I don't think it's going to work because HTCHome.dll isn't hex edited for the directory change to \HTCHome, so it'll be looking in \Windows for the images instead.

It worked for me a while back, I'm sure. This may be the preffered method cause when you cook them into the rom, they'll be in \windows anyways. But if there is another version that works better, let me have it! :)

Thanks rstoyguy! I'll give that a shot tonight.

About Thumbcal, I have this already as an OEM. I can post when I get home if I don't get beat to the punch.

I had one problem with it however. If I used package creator, I get an error on my phone when I select the option to change the default calendar to Thumbcal. Actually, I don't get the error until I click on Calendar on the Home tab of TF3D. I get something to the effect that a cert is not valid ir something is missing. If I OEM it up using OEMizer, it functions perfectly. Also, when using package creater, it seems to include an extra setupDLL.dll....maybe that has something to do with it?

Master Yoda, I pulled down the blast shield and managed to use my light sabre to ... break the Elecont Weather OEM that I was trying to update.

Help, please!

Best regards,

s4.cereg, is that being read by something? The edits in .cereg are also in the .rgu except for the deviceID. I am a bit confused. Also a little blurry on why i let UC copy the start up link.

I would like to make this a standard addition to my roms.:headbang:

I have tried to create my own OEM, but realized that I am entirely too stupid.

Use the force...Try this OEM and use it as a guide. It's an older version, if I remember right, this one has intensive registry entries in the hkey_classes_root...If you haven't got it by tonight, I'll look at it.

setupdll.dll...well...shouldn't be there. OEMizer adds a security setting for the file, check out the rgu you made with oemizer and copy the following key:
hklm\security\appinstall\??? ; and you should be good....

The *.cereg files are ones I exported after installing the .cab to help me make the oem, they shouldn't be there...

and...
For More Info on UC, Click HERE!
With the startup .lnk that the OEM installs, well it's really not meant for a post-flash, it's definately a post-.cab install program. the lnk jumps right into setting up the program, and you can't do that when windows is trying to set up your rom. So delete the entry out of the initflashfiles.txt in the OEM and copy that .lnk file post-flash with usercustomization into the \windows\startup directory. It's the only way that I can think to get around it.

Awesome info! Much appreciated! Ok, I will check out the security issue. I am assuming that when you say to copy that key that I would be pasting that same key into the .rgu created by package creater.

So those .cereg files are post install reg settings? I see then that you added them to the .rgu. For most other OEM's, is that needed? Does that make the app "more fully installed" versus just having the program files copied to the apps directory?

As for the UC, I get it now and you are right. When I install with the cab, and it freezes right after installing and I do a reset, the app kicks right back up where it left off. I now understand what you mean by letting UC copy the link. I'll certainly give this a shot aslo when I get home.

EDIT: While i am asking questions, when I cook ThumbCal into the rom, I also found the reg settings that allow ThumbCal to be the default calendar. On first start up after flashing, when I select Calendar on the Home tab, it still launches the stock calendar. When I go into Thumbcal's settings though, it does show that Thumbcal should be the default. If I deselect them, select ok, reselect the settings again and then try it, it works.
