Bricked my phone - But recovered

I dont know if I should of put this in the how to litchen thread or what - Anyway -

I tried to do some edits to "my" rom (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46738)

I did the following to V1.2
- Added voice command
- Changed Opera favorites
- Added Voice recorder
- Change Opera homepage to about:blank
- Removed Obex Inbox
- Didnt choose a carrier

I also delted the following Other - Esmertec Jbed Java 0.0.20080912.5 out of the OEM folder.

But I didnt choose a carrier this time and I also added these new regedits

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM]
"ROMVersion1"="1.2"
"ROMVersion"="Catchacold"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today]
"Skin"="\\Windows\Htc black.tsk"

I was able to recover by the Power/Volume down/reset button and flash back to my 1.1 ROM and I am up and running.

But I am wondering why the phone got bricked in the first place??

TIA

I think you need another slash in the skin line.... but why not try to debug it yourself? Do one thing at a time, and see what happens, that's how you learn:)

Not a brick. I've had to do that more times than I care to count (:
Now if you truly bricked it..

This is true, you didn't actually brick the phone if it was just an OS flash... All you every have to do is go into bootloader and reflash.
