Are there really enough pages designed for the iPhone to make this little hack worthwhile? It does seem pretty cool that we can get access to iPhone designed sites with this custom user agent.

You could access the iPhone version of Facebook by typing in iphone.facebook.com. Works for me on my Vogue, although the site is bigger than my screen.

Now, since our device is spoofing these sites into thinking we have an iphone, is this going to be a problem with any other sites that we download content from that must recognise our device as a diamond?

I don't know if it's a good idea. Iphone' Safari use webkit, opera don't support Webkit so basically if there's a web site designed with webkit, opera won't probably display it correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's not a so good idea.

On the other side not alot of sites use webkit.

Actually I just did this little hack on my Opera and tried the iphone facebook and it doesn't work perfectly.

Go into photos and they don't load up right, and some areas don't work once you tap them. Maybe I have to give it a second chance but that was my initial experience. Try it out yourselves.

The google bar under the address bar doesn't work for me. Every time I search something with it, it makes Opera crash. Probably because it uses the Iphone google page to display results.

with this hack, how do you change the settings like rainfreak did (in this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=40995) so that opera won't keep showing webpages in wap mode?

If you're not cooking a rom you can open opera type in "opera:config" without " in the address bar. Go to user preferences and find the spot where you can type that in on your phone. Doing it the .ini like Juicy is saying makes it so this setting is defaulted to that when you install a rom.

Iphone never had anything on the diamond. Seriously gsm blows. And the iphone is rubbish. Most of the people I see with an iphone are kids none of which are older then 25.

WM phones are all about business with some pleasure thrown in for good measure.

I seriously thought tho the diamond was the best and would be the demise of the iphone but after having hands on, on the HD I must say OMFG! I really hope they bring the HD over to cdma.
