tru he is sharp... but if you have no prob with the ring then I am afraid that it is something that I did/installed/tweaked in the kitchen that has caused things to go bad... so many variables though. thought it might be the slide to answer but really don't have enough time to reflash right now... might just have to go with vibrate for a day or so until I have more time... was really hoping the problem was common/ like file location or a reg entry gone bad. does't seem that easy though.

funny thing is whatever I set it for it just default back to windows mobile and refuses to ring. sounds like a registry problem or something. like it's not saving the setting in the right place... dunno

Great! I changed this setting to 1000 and now the screen stays on during my calls. Thanks a bunch... this one had been bugging me for a while.

Just found this interesting tidbit. The call recording function from asian HTC Touch HD phones has been made available in .cab format. Could this be added to the kitchen?

Ironically, I am happy that I am not the only one with a broken ringer and youtube!! Really wish I could get this working, but I have tried almost everything. I am flashing a new rom with a different version of Manila (I will try the Telus one) using the test2 kitchen.

I am using telus, test 2... and no incoming ring. no youtube.

also I cooked in the slide to answer... wonder if that is the prob?

Nope, i don't have slide2answer cooked in, and it still doesn't ring. Maybe I will have to resort to cooking a plain-jane rom (*GASP!*) and testing it from there...

i used the telus manilla, but i didn't use slide to answer.

I also unchecked: remote desktop, voip, windows live?

I remember reading that some users were having issues with voip and youtube in 4.0? Maybe try cooking a rom without voip and see if that does anything =/

ok I fixed my ring.... dunno if something I loaded changed these or not but it now works for me... try this if you like...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\RingTone LoadByRingtone REG_DWORD DEC 1

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE FaceDownMuteRing REF_DWORD DEC 0

don't know which one fixed it since I changed them both then rebooted... but fixed is fixed... lol

and if it actually works for you someone thank me it sux being a 5 lmao

now after I install my programs that I installed with 4.0 the phone freezes on boot before the animated screen lol going to install one at a time and see which it is.

Hmm, i don't even have those entries in my registry!

The closest I can find to LoadByRingtone is under HKLM, not HKCU... maybe that is also my issue?
