What effect would custom roms have on windowws mobile upgrade
 

I saw this question asked in the 150+ page thread on juicy's 2.7/2.8, but it was never answered. I wonder what effect a custom rom would have if Microsoft were to issue 6.2, for example. Would the rom have to be switched back to stock if there were any reason I wanted to go the 6.2 route?

The new rom (WM6.2) be installed without any issues, the same as any upgrade. Your custom rom would probably be better anyways

Worst case scenario (that I can think of) would be this:

Have to install a new unlocked of some kind
Have to revert back to stock, then flash to winmo 6.2.

I guess I dont really understand the question... if WinMo 6.2 came out there would be custom roms based on it almost instanly and it would be fairly painless to upgrade. Such was the case with WinMo 6.1 when it came out.

It won't be 6.2

Unless the broad from motorola was on crack, she may have leaked that Microsoft is releasing Windows Mobile 6.5 in 2009

It probably never reach this device anyways, but you can bet it would be ported within a few days!
