I go to Start, Settings, System ,Clear Storage.

Enter 1234 and say Yes.

Easiest way imo.

Thank you. That's much easier than hitting power/vol down/center button/reset button. I had to do that a couple times last night and was getting really mad at whoever thought they needed to make doing a hard reset that....hard.

Yes, the easiest way, but IMO I don't know if it's actually doing a true hard reset. I'm probably wrong, both ways are probably doing the same thing. I just feel more at peace doing the reset with the hardware buttons. To do this way, follow steps:

1. Power off phone
2. Hold down enter button (center round button)
3. While holding down enter button, press and hold down vol button
4. Whild holding down enter button and down vol button, press and hold power button
5. Wait a few seconds, screen should come up grey saying to press vol down button again to do a restore. Release buttons and press vol down button
6. Screen comes back saying restore is done and press vol up button to complete

I believe with your other hand you need to be holding pinkie fingers with an HTC SW person and the moon needs to be full during the equinox. :salute: lol

Who at HTC comes up with this stuff?? lol

BTW, Thanks again Juicy, your ROMs rule!!!

this is what i do: set the stylus over the reset hole and hold it there with the tip of my index finger lightly as not to press the reset yet, thumb on the conter dpad. then the other hand gets the power and volume down. usually works ok that way to get all of the buttons pressed.

just do clean storage 1234. this is the way i have always done a hard reset and it is the same has doing it with hardware button. hardware button are the last solution when your wm device crash (if you still do softreset and still happens). just like soft reset hardware vs software, is the same. i personally use Xp shutdown for softreset and i don't have to remove the back battery cover all the time to use the stylus for it. Don't let anyone fool you, SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE HARDRESET ARE THE SAME.

Beware not to clear internal storage which is one of the choices in "clear storage."

HLKM/System/State/Hardware and then go to Headset and change it to 1.

thanks for that info but when I open PHM registry editor I cant figure out how to do anything. It shows the 4 things but nothing happens when I click on them or double click or hold the stylus on them. How to I expand them?
