Re: [NOV 26th New Sprint/Alltel Radio V1.03.15F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I'm using V1.03.15F on Telus. No noticeable difference from V1.03.03 from Verizon. The Verizon radio made a huge difference over the stock radio. I could actually use it as a 'phone' after flashing.
What is a good tool to use for measuring db strength instead of relying on the bars? I'd like to know what I've got now before I flash with any updates that HTC might release for the Telus Diamond. Thanks to everyone's hard work on the dumping the Radio's. This thing would have gone back along time ago if these updates weren't available and I would have blamed their network. Using Juicy's 3.7.1 Rom. |
Re: [NOV 26th New Sprint/Alltel Radio V1.03.15F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I'm looking for directions as to how to flash with the verizon radio. I am currently on the juicy rom, and did that myself but I don't remember putting anything on the phone itself. IIRC the flash was initiated from my laptop. When people are saying to flash the radio from the internal memory I'm a bit confused on what to do.

I actually found the sticky about how to flash from memory, but which file do I use for the radio update out of this rar?

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062 edit: I guessed you already read some of this thread based on your question. I would hold off on doing any radio upgrades until you understand the exact process of flashing a rom/radio. it's not difficult but you need to be sure to know this ahead of time. The ROMUpdateUtility is the file that you select first which leads you throught the process of flashing. but like I said, dont do this unless you are comfortable with the process and unlocked your phone already. |
Re: [NOV 26th New Sprint/Alltel Radio V1.03.15F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
Thanks for that post. I have read that and understand it... I think. I guess my confusion is regarding file names and how these flashes are treated.
I've got the verizon rar open here and I am noticing that the radio nbh file is the same name as the juicy rom that i put on the phone the other day. So I see what I need to do is put this file on the internal memory, rename it to diamimg and enter bootloader. My confusion was that I didn't understand how a radio rom was seperate from the OS rom, but they do not affect each other when installed from memory like this... Am i making sense? |

That post seems garbled... in short, is flashing the radio from (form internal memory) the same process as flashing, say, juicy's rom.

I would just flash with activesync, but I'm more interested in doing it from internal memory since it doesn't require a hard reset.

Alright cool. Thanks for the info from both of you, it helped clear up a lot.
I ended up updating with verizon's radio from internal memory with a soft reset after the install. It worked great, phone and GPS still work. Also, where I am I usually get 0-1 bars, and I know get 2-3. So far so good, hopefully this fixes the battery issue a bit. |
