Re: [ROM] [MAY.19.09] MightyROM 4R3BORN & MightyROM5 [NEW BETA's AVAILABLE!]

A lot of people have been having problems with 6.5. It's not the ROM it's the phone needing proper flashing.

If you have Telus can you try going through each ROM one at a time that is on here that says "shipped" on it and see if one will work? ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Diamond/Stock%20ROMs/

Also note that some roms are only for sprint or other carriers and some are universal but you need to install carrier cab.

I have seen carrier cab's mentioned a few times now, and have never had to use one. I have been running MR4 (universal) for awhile now and have never once installed any cab for my carrier, which is Sprint.

Is there a Sprint carrier cab? If so, what does it do? My phone seems to work fine w/o one.

It adds ## coomands that are for your carrier plus some carriers require certain settings for Picture mail etc

I tried flashing MR5 based on Mike's instructions for flashing as described in post #8818. The only options I did not explore was the method posted by JCerna (#8819) and flashing to another 6.5 ROM before flashing MR5. Both of these options are workarounds. Therefore, the problem some of us are experiencing is a bug with ROM - especially considering I did not have this problem when flashing Juicy's 6.5 ROM (although I found Juicy7 was otherwise quite buggy).

4R3BORN is highly stable and functional ROM, so I will be sticking with it until the current installation bug is worked out of the MR5 ROM.

I have to disagree, if we all have the same hardware we should all have similars results when flashing. I had the problem that was described and it was because I was not flashing properly. The only other reason would be if something is up with the hardware.

The thing is that I have tried all 6.5 (well al that I know about) and I had problems with all of them. Also I can remmember a few 6.1 roms that I had problems after flashing.

I think it is luck sometimes I flash a new rom without hard reseting or anything and it works fine. Then I tried another and I have problems so I go to stock and it works.. and so on.

I highly doubt it is Mike's ROM. I think for me the problem was I was on a 21505 or 21502 ROM XIP and then went to 21234 at first and it went backwards and didn't like it. So flashing a completely stock WM 6.1 shipped ROM fixed everything and got the settings restored to normal and it works fine now.

So, what's the deal with the 4R3BORN beta? Is the ringer bug fixed? Are there any other problems? Can I flash it now!? :)

Not too many people reporting the ringer bug...but it still exists, I got it, others did as well. It only happened once though, so go figure.
