Quick solution for that is for MS to suck it up and admit that our chefs do it better then theirs and to just start paying Mighty/Juicy/Calcu ect ect..... for keeping windows mobile alive.

The problem with only offering the ROM/software to those that "donate" is that the law doesn't differentiate just because you call it something different. If a product is only available to those who make payment (even if it's only $1), it is being sold. And if you are selling something that explicitly is not yours to sell (which is the case for almost all of the software included in these ROMs, especially the MS created base), you open yourselves up to all sorts of legal liability. MS and the creators of all this software would have cause to come after anyone who received the payments and the courts have affirmed their right to do so- there could even be penalties above and beyond the monies collected.

Not that I don't approve of the idea- I think Mike and Rico have every right to accept donations. I just don't want to see them get in trouble for doing so.

Paying for ROMs? LoL!! are you guys insane? That goes against everything this community stands for. Your just asking for trouble once you go down that road.

its not really paying for the roms because eventually everybody would be able to download it. yeah it will cause problems but it all sounds like a good idea. it just gives the donators the first crack at downloading from the server. and may not crash the server like it did last night.
