WiMax (4G) is a totally different techonolgy than EVDO (3G). No current Sprint phone supports it. Currently to use the 4G network (which is live in Baltimore and Portland) you would need a PC card, USB stick or desktop modem to use it. It will be coming to handsets in the next year or so but for now it is only available for your PC.

did you verify the regedits were changed to 4 after soft reset? a lot of times in WinMo the regedits won't stick if you soft-reset right away.

One of the entries went back to 1. I put it back to 4 and did not soft reset. We will see if it sticks all day. But wouldnt the cab fix have changed the entries? I installed it after i performed the regedit.

Yes they exist but not for Sprint. We have some waiting before these can be used in the US. If I recall that one is being used on a Russian network. It is in the 2.5GHz band which is what Clear is using so I suppose you could get it to work but then your voice wouldn't since that is GSM radio and Sprint is CDMA.

Project Copper over at the Touch Pro section. A Mighty Mike and Juicy47 team effort on a WinMo 6.5 rom. Amazing work, long live Project Copper..

you only need to do one or the other(regedit or cab). from my understanding from a previous post in this forum by Mighty, the actual regedits the cab performed changed certain values from 5 to 4. not sure where one comes in....regardless, my point was(is) to wait a minute or so befoe soft resetting, but definitely soft reset.

I just checked over in Calculins thread....

Both regs edits are in:

HKCU - Control Panel - Sound Categories - Ring
HKCU - Control Panel - Sound Categories - RingPreview

Apparently in both folders the InitVol option needs to be set to 4 instead of 5(the setting in my case).

Cheers

When I change the entry in the ring folder, it changes the volume to the 2nd highest level. well i do not want that. i want it be lowest non silent setting, im at work. once i change it to that level, the registry entry is back to 1.
