Yes, that is the correct way to do it (well, the way most people do it, including MightyMike himself).

If you have UC on, rename SDConfig.txt to something else before the flash so you don't have to wait for it, and then rename it before the hard reset.

If you don't know what UC or SDConfig is, ignore what I said, but look into it in the future if you want to automatically load your goodies after a hard reset :)

edit: Holy crap, I just triple posted on accident...

I've got a quick question to throw out there while we anticipate the release of 4.6!
I am a loyal follower of Mighty's ROMs and I want to make sure I am technically getting all the benefits of each release. Before flashing I am performing a hard reset and then flashing immediately to Mighty's latest.
Does this fully ensure there are not remnance of the previous ROM? Are others flashing to stock first and then to the latest and greatest. Is this necessary?
...figured it's worth some discussion while we wait :)

There are as many rituals as there are ROMs.

I always hard reset, flash stock sprint (newest leaked one), flash new ROM, then hard reset.

99.9 % of that is probably just voodoo and not necessary but I have almost never had an issue pop up afterwards.[-o<

Actually I had an issue last night where EVERY rom that I flashed kept bricking my phone (Mighty, groove, Calkulin, I flashed each at least twice!) and the very last thing I did was flash to stock and it magically worked. Granted I had to reflash my radio after, but it saved my phone. So I think there is some truth to that voodoo for some unknown reason.

If you are using A2DP and you plan on being more than 3' away from your phone, forget it with this ROM. At least with Samsung SBH170's. However everything else is fantastic.
