I set up my e-mail to forward all incoming to my sms. Just use your e-mail to sms address (mine is 705XXXXXXX@msg.telus.com). Then you just check your e-mail manually when you are alerted by the text message. You get your mail even faster than checking every 5 minutes and there is no effect on battery.

I've got mine currently checking every 15 minutes, which seems to satisfy my urge to know what's coming in.

Anyone else playing with Google's contact and calendar OTA sync? They are both working very nicely for me. I have it synchronizing every 15 minutes during peak and every 2 hours off peak, and it's a pleasure. I cannot say for sure yet how much of a battery drain it is, since lately I've been able to tether to electricity throughout my day and have rarely gone 4 hours without plugging in.

hey great rom dude i tried to find som problems but none really. i found one lil thing yu can look at nd it dat wen am online nd in lik da side view,i guess its landscape idk lol, nd i get a txt i usually click on the top rather than go home screen but wen i click on the top to select the text msg it bugs out.. lik it lag nd revert to the normal view (not landscape) lol not anytning significant tho.

Unfortunately not tonight...

As you guys can see, because the touch pro is my main device, having a stable release on that device means i can port it over to the diamond easily. 4.12 for the touch pro is 99.9% stable... Therefore i'm starting to merge it over to the diamond.

Truth be told, the rom is already made and being tested by someone... So if all goes well, he'll give you guys a review tonight!
