This is just bad business - Verizon

I have been annoyed with Verizon's required data plan since I began considering upgrading in July. Currently I have a I760 that I am satisfied with. I use the wifi that is abundant here as I live near my universities campus. I have it in my home, everywhere on campus, all the restraunts have picked it up as well. I have NO reason for a data plan and therefore deleted the connection from my i760 so I could not inadvertently connect. (I have the required pay as you go...that I dont use) I cracked the i760s screen in July and it has been getting worse and worse. I was trying to hold out until my contract was up because verizon is priced outrageously and I would like to switch back to Tmobile. Anyway, over the past week I had made the descision the bite the bullet on the data plan and get a new droid (the i760s screen is bad enough now that it is essentially unusable). I actually went up there today to get one and was told that all 4 lines on our family plan are ineligable until january for an upgrade...wow. Have I mentioned NOONE on this family plan is as satisfied as we were with Tmobile. Am I ridiculous for thinking that you should ALWAYS lock a customer in wnever you can on a 2 year plan? Instead of locking me in for 2 more years and ADDING a data plan to an account, Verizon now has an even more disgruntled customer. Verizon is loosing my business. (landline, cable, internet, and 4lines on a family plan)

How long ago did you sign a contract?

Have contacted retentions.

Don't blame the store, their hands are tied. You need to contact the higher-ups to get what you want,

I would'nt exactly call it bad business cause that's the deal you agreed to. That being said it isn't smart business either. laos is rght, you have to speak to either managers or retentions. Then if you don't get wht you want hang up and call right back until you do.
