**UPDATE 10/19** 1 Week, 2 Different Phones Broke, Asurion: I have a question
 
I have two phones on my account, one for my daughter, one for me... she had a Samsung Instinct m800 and she dropped her phone in a whirlpool while giving treatment to an athlete :(
I used Asurion's online replacement and paid my $100.00, she will be receiving a new(er) phone, the Samsung Instinct s30, thought that was cool.

Well later that same day my HTC Touch Pro was dropped and scattered about every where!!! Battery and cover shot under the freezer case in the store I was in and low-and-behold, the plastic thing that protects the pins in the USB port broke off!!! So now I have to get that phone replaced too...

My question is this, does anyone know if Asurion is replacing HTC Touch Pros with HTC Touch Pro 2? It would be sweet and some karma return if they did replace it with a TP2... if not, i'll be happy just getting it replaced...

Another question is this... has anyone put insurance on their phone that is not Asurion? Like http://www.safeware.com

you will get the same phone only a used refurbish.

With the return rate being what it was on defective TP's, it will probably be quite a while before Asurion gives TP users upgrades to TP2's.

if only they would take into consideration the amount of returns of TP they would give users are more reliable phone and give the TP2.... oh wait, no they wouldn't because then they'd loose money!! Sounds like the TP is their cash cow... ha ha

**UPDATE**

Asurion doesn't have any HTP Touch Pros in stock, could be 3 to 7 days before they get any... they offered me a HTC Snap or HTC Touch Diamond. I thanked them and declined their offer. I went to the local Sprint store, might as well went to a local standup comic night club... because it was a joke...

The rep wanted me to buy a $170.00 phone to use until Asurion got more TPs in-stock and then spend $100.00 for an insurance claim to get a refurb TP... WHAT THE!

Last part of my story

I called Asurion yesterday and they put me on a back order hold... the lady who helped me said that she would put that if a TP or a TP2 comes in it will be sent to me... I was very grateful, shoot I just want at TP to replace my broken one, not expecting a free upgrade.
Today, I received and email from Asurion indicating that a phone is on it's way... that's fast!! I called Asurion to find out what phone they sent me as a replacement... it's a Touch Pro!!! I'm very happy because I thought I was going to have to give in to an inferior phone like the Blackberry BOOO!!!!
Wonder if I'll get it tomorrow (Saturday) or if I'll have to wait until monday, either way, I'm happy!

I got a TP2 replacement for my TP yesterday..... big phone.

So I got my replacement phone today and to my surprise
HTC TOUCH PRO 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
