Stick With Verizon or Go To Sprint?
 

Basically I live in an area that used to be Alltel (will be gone Oct. 16, 2009 for Hutch) and both Sprint and Verizon have about equal coverage here so that's not an issue. What I am trying to decide is whether it is worth sticking with Verizon or going to Sprint and how we can do this. I am on a plan with my mom and she only uses her dumbphone for phonecalls and I use my Diamond for anything you name.

What would you recommend?

well..........you could go to sprint and go all over and see how your coverage is and then after 30 days if you dont like it take it back and try verizon. then try out verizon for 30 days and then go back to them. then decide which one had the best coverage.

If you go with sprint, buy a sero off someone and save a lot of money over verizon.

in the same boat here, Hays,ks switching over come the 16th and I am really debating switching to sprint. My only concern is the phones, sprint has a good selection but it seems that Verizon is making a HUGE run on getting all the latest and greatest equipment. Guess I'll just have to wait until January or Feb. when my contract expires and make a decision then.

im guessing you are from nothern america? somewhere maybe around wisconsin? yeah thats when i switch and im staying with vzw because ppl have never heard of sprint here. we have very little stores in mini malls and stuff.

I am also in hutch and have been pondering the same thing. I really like verizons phones but sprints plans are much more affordable(considering I would be getting sero). I went to the main street alltel store the other day and the phones are too tempting... let me know what you ultimately decide!

I'm in one of the areas where Verizon took over Alltel too. At first I was kinda bummed because of VZN's rep for crippling phones, but lately it looks like they're doing everything they can to offer the best and newest phones coming out. Add to that the best coverage area and I'm willing to stick around, even if the plans do cost a little more, you get what you pay for. Sprint would even give me a 15% discount for being a Firefighter, but I'd rather pay more and have better signal strength.

I just read the bestbuy ad and i'm really torn now. sprint has the samsung hd and htc hero but I also really like the samsung rogue from verizon(with better prices on all their phones). I do have a question though, can alltel customers use verizon phones or do we have to upgrade to a verizon plan? is there an official answer on this subject?
