Thank you Sprint!
Just wanted to write a post and share my happiness with you all about my past experience with Sprint...
I received my TP a month or so after it came out free due to having insurance with my 6800. My 6800 was acting up and since they did not carry that model anymore they upgraded me to the TP brand spanking new out of the box! Just recently my TP started acting up to where i would have to hold the HTC logo on the screen down in order for the screen to work properly, so I took it in to a Sprint repair store. They examined my phone and ended up replacing the top portion of the phone (the screen). It was back to normal and working great until I tried to make a call later on in the night... Comes to find out that the piece they replaced had a broken ear piece and was in no working condition. I had to use the speaker phone in order to hear the other party speak. I took the phone in once again and they told me they had no replacement parts nor phones at the time. Luckily, the young lady working, which may I add was smokin' hot, told me that they would have to order another phone but will probably be refurbished. I worked my charm and i persuaded her into ordering me a new one and she fell into my trap. She put in an order for a brand new TP with express delivery. The next day I go back and they pull out a new TP fresh in the box wrapped and everything looking beautiful!! Mine had a couple knicks and scratches from minor drops. AAAnnndd, from past threads I have read, I wanted to take the extra step and ask if I could keep the old battery to use as a spare and guess what....? Now I have two batteries, a brand new phone, and two of everything because I was given the box (e.g. stylus, ear piece, case..). And the best thing of all was that i received all this FOR FREE! Thanks you Sprint! Sorry for the long post... but I figured that some of you out there may run into the same situation I was and fortunately come out on top like I did! Cheers.:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::he adbang: |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
congrats. now you can update your profile and get rid of the mogul tag lol!
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
nice.
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
done. ha.
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
i also think sprint is giving tps as replacements because they were out of moguls. but congrats anyway!
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
yes i started a thread about this a couple months ago. i Run a Sprint ASC and a similar situation happend to myself as well...except my keyboard went out on me in the firsts week of having my new TP...so they sent another New TP...thus i have...well had two of everything. all i kept was the extra backhousing and battery i gave the rest away to customers who werent jerks lol haha..
so remember play nice in the stores, it really goes a long way. (sorry completely off topic. I just hate when a customer walks in and throws his phone on my desk and just says "NOW FIX IT!" i hand them their phone back and say "Now Step Out Side And Start This Conversations Over Again." lol) :) |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
jus wondering...what makes you want to share this information with 250,000 other people? do you want them to try it too? say all 250,000 did this because of this great and useful advice....and now they're out of equipment and yours breaks again. and now u're stuck with it...wouldn't you kind of be upset with yourself?
i'm going to go do this tomorrow and get me a new phone too. i think everyone on the site should do it. |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
wtf?
what kinda negativity is that? you're pitiful, bro. haa. |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
Nice, you lucked up big time, imagine people getting a free TP upgrade from the 6700.

Re: Thank you Sprint!
I Got My Tp For $1.05 And Returned My Crappy Mogul...
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
other then jus the insult...can u explain what u mean by that?
i explained my view, and will go a lil further by saying as soon as i saw the title "Thank you Sprint!" i immediately knew you were a noob. cause this is a very noobish thread. we'll see more like this, "Change mogul to Touch Pro"..."Sprint's insurance is Great!!" etc. Trust when i say, every time u see a thread that has a title similiar to those....it will be posted by a clueless noob. |

it's been said a whole, whole lotta times. still don't understand why, i really feel as though it's about 75% of the reason why the deductible has been doubled. |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
congrats!!

Have an issue with your Sprint phone? Take it to a repair center, if there isn't a simple solution, they will order a replacement for free. No need to pay the deductible. You might even be lucky to get a new phone depending of your phone availability status at that particular moment... Which is what the OP wanted to say anyways, just gave us all TMI...... |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
Those without the extra monthly insurance pay what for a replacement TP? And does the price vary if it breaks, say, after the first year but before the 2 year agreement is up?
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
Sprint is not out of Moguls. My Mogul just quit a little over a week ago and guess what Sprint sent as a replacement? A brand new HTC-Mogul out of the box! I checked if it was a refurb by way of ##778# and it had no status of being refurbished. I couldn't believe it at first but Sprint does have a few laying around!

'somethings' are best to keep to yourself. telling everybody is what killed the SERO plan, the $10 a month dropped call credits, it also killed the visual voicemail and more. i'm all about sharing but not when the long run result = ended for everyone including myself. one question...based on what u say there would be a better way of wording it: if it was your company, and 10,000 people were bringing in year old, beat up old broken, $500 phones. and the 'requirement' was to replace the phone with a brand new in the box $600 phone....wouldn't you feel as though a change was needed. if 100 people are doing it, it's not so bad...if it's 10,000...don't you agree that if it was 'your' company, a change is needed?? if you will please honestly answer that for me. |

Re: Thank you Sprint!
It seems like the only company losing out here is Asurion. Which is fine by me anyways given the fact that people pay $7 a month for TEP and then also have to now shell out $100 on top of that. Thats too expensive for an extended warranty.

Yea that $100 is definitely kinda tight now, which further validates my point....i really feel that 200 "Get a free Touch Pro" threads played a huge part in the hike of the deductible. i'll ask again, with all the fraud going on...if it was your company, wouldn't u agree that a price increase was needed? i can't be mad at them, they would've been insane to keep it the way it was. but at the same time, it 'was' GREAT. i loved it. it was too good to be true. $7 a month with a $50 deductible to insure a $600 pda, you can't be that. and that's how i knew to never say anything too stupid to mess it up....but everyone else did an excellent job at killing it. hate to see it go but it's gone now. but it's understandable. if i was the CEO, getting frauded out from every angle like they are, i would've done the same thing....wouldn't you?? |
Re: Thank you Sprint!

I think it was more the abuse of the $50 replacements, and people using TEP as a way to guarantee they would work the system to get the hot new phone even if they were unwilling to pay the full retail price. Maybe if HTC made better phones or Sprint required better quality control on handsets this wouldn't come up as much. And yeah I do agree with your point to some extent. Its not baseless but the idea of hording every single tip and never sharing hurts the community. This community exists because of sharing, right? Its about helping now. There is always another loophole to be exploited. |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
i agree don't hord every single tip...jus the ones that'll end if u tell everyone.
but yes exactly as u said....people using the insurance to get a new phone for $50 is probably what did the most damage. but everyone didn't know about it, until the ones smart enough to figure it out started telling everyone else about it. i'm guilty of the fraud myself. i've done it myself 5 or 6 times. i told maybe 3 people (a couple cousins) about it...and these fools started doing it every 3 months. every time the phone got a scratch on it...they'll break it on purpose to get a replacement. I say whoa! i won't tell anyone else...this type of behavior will bring it to an end. i definitely knew from the beginning though, that it probably wouldn't be wise to post it on a quarter million user community forum. to say, "Here's how to get a free Touch Pro" is pretty much another way of saying "Goodbye free upgrades" which is why i've never done it. i was hoping to up to the TP2 when it came out...but it definitely doesn't look like it's going to happen now. the show is being stopped here. |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
hey jevsays, didn't u wanna up your TP to a TP2 when it came out? don't u agree that this thread and the 100 others like it, that were posted by people like you, are hurting the chances of that happening?? not trying to come down on you...jus wanna shine the light on it from a different angle.
i know u're excited and congratulations, but if u ever find out which mountain you can get free gold in, don't tell me cause i'm gonna be there digging to, and so is all my friends and family, and all their friends etc. and what will the end result be for you..........LESS GOLD! |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
Wow if I hijacked threads and posted in them almost ten times basically being redundant then entire time, then I would be well on my way to being out of "noob" status atleast for post count. So heres +1 for me and I'm sure you will reply a couple more times for good measure.
As for the OP comment, good for you. As for all the opposition that was recieved, I don't think theres an intelligent person out there that doesn't realize this is possible. And I think its merely insulting peoples intelligence to think they havent already done this, know how to, or have tried. And with a forum with the word "geek" in the name I doubt thinking people were dumb was the best assumption. I'm going to go get my Touch Pro replaced tomorrow due to keyboard failure, seriously. But in no way am I going to go "scam" the company now because of this post. I was sold faulty equipment and I want a replacement, simple as that. But kudos to the most entertaining, shake my head, WTF thread in a while. (Well it couldnt have been that long seeing as how I am a lowly NOOB which automatically makes me ignorant) |

Re: Thank you Sprint!
Nice job :)But the really important question here is if you got her phone number :)

ah congrats!! (=

Re: Thank you Sprint!
I have to side with stifiling a little bit on this thread. With something like a third/half of the OPs posts in this thread but having been a user for over a year I question the usefulness and reason for it. That this post should be in OffTopic (if even posted at all) is an understatement. That you can get a higher model device through insurance is something that virtually everyone knows, but that no one NEEDS to know. Threads like this take up unnecessary space and serve as nothing but an outlet for a n00b's meaningless exhiliration at having gotten a lucky break on a replacement device. I would like to see less of these types of threads, no offense to the OP.

one more thing, fraud is not something 'most' people jus happen to know. i know they never taught it at my school. someone figures out the loop holes in the system...and then they begin to spread the word. as popular as it is now, most people weren't born knowing that u can do an insurance job on your home...by burning it down to the grown. for the most part someone has to tell u that. further validating my point, and at the same time has got me wondering what's wrong with you. you think most people jus happen to know the ins and outs of how to successfully commit fraud? either your thinking is kinda off or you jus want to be on the opposing side, just because. if the latter's the case then it's understandable, cause people jus do that sometimes. it's human nature. still waiting for the answer to that question, "if it was your company, would you make changes?" doesn't appear as though i'm gonna get an answer. and i don't need one, i already know the answer, and it's common sense. |
Re: Thank you Sprint!
getting tp number 5 now tp number 4 camera didnt work when I got it lol uggg tp2 come out now!
|
Re: Thank you Sprint!
There are times when a company screws you, whether it be Sprint or another company and you look for a way to get what you are entitled to. This may not be the case in this instance though.
