I got all excited until I saw the article dated 29 September 2008. I'm with Alltel and would be ecstatic to get the iPhone.

Looks like Verizon is trying to make up for the mistake of rejecting the iphone the first time. Remember Apple went to Verizon first.. After they got rejected they went to ATT...

Also love Verizon's CEO's Ivan Seidenberg explanation at the time. "we don't believe it (the iPhone) changes the game plan that we put in place for how we segment the market and what we think will attract the wireless user."

I wonder what he thinks now....

i would get a verizon iphone just for the games and coverage where i live, at&t doesnt get any signal here.

Im wondering if Verizon will decide to cripple it like they do so many other handsets, or if Apple's license and contract agreements will force them not to. Interesting situation.

Why not? It's still going to be the iPhone. it just wont say AT&T in the corner...
