the rules are this-- tep is changing not esrp , the physical damage claims were changed last year, but the tep change is going into effect 4-19-2009 all pdas that need to be replaced because asurion needs to replace it the cost is 100$ on regular handsets it is 50$ like normal, we just caught wind of this on thursday, it was in our new playbook,

The old system was really silly. Either pay $84/yr ($7/mo) so you can swap a broken handset for free, or pay nothing, but pay $50 if you swap the handset. Duh.

Now at $100 at least you're only breaking even on the insurance after 14 months.

Still kinda duh unless you go through a LOT of handsets in a year.

the best part is people still compain when they had to pay the $50. without the insurance

I got the letter too...

But does this mean that if we have physical issues we no longer get the phone replaced?

what it takes to make a claim didnt change, just the price and you can do 3 exchanges in a 12month period is what changed

Random, but related question:

When you got the packet and read the included letter about the price hike not affecting most phones, did you have a feeling something was wrong? Right when I read that line, I though, "Oh ****ake mushrooms, they're upping the Touch Pro insurance."
