Well. i would start with taking a look at this.

Sprint is updating its Terms Of Service starting in mid-July and will be capping mobile broadband data usage at 5GB. Previously, Sprint offered truly unlimited mobile broadband. Once the new Terms Of Service go into effect, users who go over the 5GB cap, or a 300MB roaming cap.

Interesting, no? It's also quite interesting considering the scheduled release dates of working MMS on some Windows Mobile phones....

I'm <inserted name here>, a new Customer of Sprint. Here's My idea, use My phone for all the great things it can do without worrying about the meter running. How's that for a wireless revolution. Pretty awesome huh?"

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

wow... i dont know what to say.

the underlying company behind unlimited data, and best bang for the buck is finally crumbling down. What a shame. A company thats already got a bad rep for almost everything and possibly on the verge of collapsing this would be the last thing i thought they would pull from their grimy hat.

i agree, if you arent bound to the new terms then you shouldnt be liable for 5gb limit.

considering every other usa carrier has a limit, im worried about the current state of our country's wireless network.. we truely are behind the times compared to japan and europe and thats a shame.

Looks like tethering when commiecast is down is going to be a problem.

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

This change will not affect any subscriber with a Powervision or Vision plan. This will only affect PAM and Datacards.

Again, if you have a Data Card, or PAM (Phone as Modem) on your account, there will be a contractual change.

If you have a regular minute plan with vision access or power vision access, this will NOT affect you unless you also have PAM on the line.

Re: Sprint 5GB internet cap

Hopefully this will just remain a rumor. The high cost of data usage is one of the reasons I left Sprint for Cingular back in 2001.

10:22:44 PM Sheneque Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Sheneque. How may I assist you today?
10:23:11 PM wjrandon Hi, I have a question about possible upcoming changes to Sprints terms of service. I've been hearing reports all over the Internet that sprint might be placing a limit on data usage. Have you heard anything about this?
10:24:59 PM Sheneque I do apologize, I have not heard this at all, this is the first.
10:25:25 PM wjrandon Well it might just be a rumor, but it's pretty scary.
10:25:53 PM wjrandon Supposedly starting July 13th a 5GB cap will be added on the Vision packages
10:26:26 PM wjrandon similar to what AT&T and Verizon has already done.
10:26:49 PM Sheneque Yes, I believe that is just a rumor, if anything like that was to occur sprint customer would be notified way in advance.
10:27:30 PM wjrandon Well okay. I suppose I shouldn't worry.
10:27:43 PM wjrandon I'd hate to lose the unlimited plan.
10:28:29 PM Sheneque No, please do not worry, there no changes coming anytime soon, especially the rumor that you heard.
10:28:58 PM wjrandon Thanks Sheneque.
10:29:13 PM Sheneque No problem. Do you have any further questions?
10:29:46 PM wjrandon No, that was my only concern. Have a great evening. Thanks again.
10:29:56 PM Sheneque Our goal is to make your web chat experience a great one. Sprint would like your feedback and comments. Please take the time to complete the short survey at the end of your chat.Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.
For some reason her words do not provide much comfort. Still Sprint would only be shooting them selfs in the foot by doing this after all the heavy marketing with the Simply Everything campaign.

i use the moguls internet sharing, i dont know if it is officially on my plan as PAM and i use my sprint pcs connection not phone as modem line, so would that start being charged as PAM on the bill? hopefully as previously stated this is just a rumor, and i know this is all just speculation, but damn this is really a bad business move by sprint.

Ok, so say someone was using PDAnet on their employee line any thoughts on how that would be handled? As it is the program hides that fact that you are tethering.
