Sprint may cancel my service due to too much roaming
I just got a letter from Sprint saying I am violating their roaming agreement and they are going to be monitoring my account for possible termination. This is outrageous! I was going to cancel anyway because data speeds are horrible where I live and now because my signal is horrible inside of buildings I'm being penalized. I guess verizon will have a new customer soon. Has anyone else had this issue?

Looks to me like they're doing u a favor,no ETF or runarounds like I'm facing in this thread:

Yeah, that's the only way to get out of contact without the etf. |
You can log into your sprint account and see exactly how much roaming data your using. I think if you consistently use over 300mb roaming data they can do this (terms of service.)

If you port your number to tmobile be prepared to pay the eft. Or just try to get sprint to waive it. |
Re: Sprint may cancel my service due to too much roaming
Tomorrow will be yet another checkpoint call and hopefully the last as I didn't pay my bill because of all this and I have a simple mobile SIM card on the way in the mail. Simple mobile is a prepaid company that uses the T-mobile network and offers $40 unlimited everything. Any GSM phone with 1700mhz bands can be used.

Why not just use tmobile directly? Im not to keen on 3rd party carriers. Hope you dont have issues porting your number. |

But yeah, as soon as you port out your sprint number, the account is cancelled, you pay etfs. Sent from my SPH-D700 using PPCGeeks |
Re: Sprint may cancel my service due to too much roaming
@gullzway and @fixxxer2008 Yea I thought simple mobile might've been a good idea but I found a thread over at HoFo that was kinda scary. Basically the findings are that those who used the $40 plan (the one I was planning to goto) their speeds were no better than the speeds in my sig. If they went to the $60 plan they got the actual Tmo speeds. So because of this the original idea of going to Tmo is reinstated and I'm buying a SIM card after class and after the call regardless of the outcome I'm porting out my number. These slow speeds are way too much of an inconvenience and is making my online class very difficult (what I'll tell him).

Yeah your better off with tmobile. As far as sprint just tell them you couldnt take the slow speeds anymore. Theres no reason for them to not waive the eft. They did for me when i moved to verizon. You just have to get vocal with them. |
