Sprint posts quarterly and Ytd results

Ouch...so far they have lost 1.6 billion dollars this year. Better than last year though but still not good:

they can't afford to maintain their own network that's y they sold it off to 3 other companies who aren't doing anything about the network issues.

i think sprint is doomed. i remember not long ago we said at&t and t-mobile were but sprint looks worse off now.

yankees45us 10-27-2011 09:07 PM

They are not doomed yet. They are currently still trying to get out Of the mess they have been in for the last couple years and they are doing a while lot better. Now with the announcement of their 3g improvements and their launch of lte and lte advanced if it works like they say they will be doing real good in the next year and beyond. All I know is that I'm sticking by them for a bit longer. I'm looking forward to an lte evo with quad core browser.

i suggest you go to xda and the sprint forums. sprint's network has been a mess for almost a year now. as far as lte it won't happen for at least two years, IF they can even fund it.

Re: Sprint posts quarterly and Ytd results

Lte will begin rolling out in mid 2012 as per Sprint. Most likely by the end of 2012 they will have the same LTE footprint as their current wimax network. Additional they probably will pull a tmobile move and go to lte advanced to try to jump over the competition. Just wondering how much of the country will be covered though. Things will definitely improve and Sprint will survive. But having said all that, I see no value in continuing to give them my business while they get their act together. I will switch and come back when/if the dust settles. In my particular situation, it's the right move. Certainly Sprint has a lot to offer still and many do not have issues so it makes sense to stick it out. I hope they do well.

@Riley U should goto T-Mobile,cheaper than Verizon and very fast speeds. I had an HD7 at a t-mobile store and tested it and got 21M on 3G.

we almost considered tmobile to but the coverage in my area was not stellar and we still do not know if at&t will buy them or not.

at least with verizon i get good 3g and while my 4g is sketchy i at least have it and the speeds are decent. most important is i can use my phone again, sprint was a nightmare.

@Dr.8820 yea I remember that, how's that possible on a 3G phone? Only thing is its capped so the throttled speeds will probably be less than 500k

I bought an extended battery & I just keep my 4G on all day long so I won't have to deal with the shitty 3G speeds. Can't jump ship because I have it way to good on Sprint right now (SWAC, $55 a month)

people laughed not because they didn't believe you that you got that number. Its because with the HD2s hardware it was physically impossible. There must have been something wrong with the calculation.

Such as caching of data, would respond back to the server that the file downloaded using to benchmark finished while sending you via their local servers. So that benchmark could have been the speed of t-mobile's pipe rather then your mobile speed.

@fixxxer2008 well I got it, and I tested 3 times to make sure it wasn't a fluke. And one of my other friends was able to get 11m on her Samsung gravity smart which is also a 3G phone.

Speedtest results are not always accurate. Either is benchmarks.

LOL @ Austin but I just posted what they (mobilespeedtest.net) gave me...maybe it is cached different but my HD2 was fast also....I do know that before I dropped Sprint, my TP2 slowed to a crawl.

See the thing about sprint is, they literally gotten rid of everything that made them better then the other carriers. Only advantage they have is unlimited data for the 1% that use it (like me).

Otherwise their network is worse(since they lost half their towers and no more 4g build outs till mid year).
