Sprint service changing to 1x a lot more frequently then usual
Could this mean my PRL is outdated or should I try a different radio to fix this?

not sure, i get this a lot too, but whenever i open an app that needs data, it switches back to 3g... maybe a battery saver feature?

Re: Sprint service changing to 1x a lot more frequently then usual
IF you look at sprint coverage map it has changed dramatically..their contract for 3g tower lease ran out and they renegotiated the deal as 3g roaming as its cheaper.

Re: Sprint service changing to 1x a lot more frequently then usual
the weird thing is, i'm in an area that is "drowning" in 3g coverage, so i don't get why it keeps changing back and forth. Very annoying when i'm trying to tether and it locks in 1x mode

Is it because you are tethering?

Re: Sprint service changing to 1x a lot more frequently then usual
why would that matter?

Re: Sprint service changing to 1x a lot more frequently then usual
maybe he was implying you were getting throttled for heavy useage?
i dont think thats the case though. |

Re: Sprint service changing to 1x a lot more frequently then usual
I posted a thread about this back in April. my situation was a little bit different tho. I would frequently get speeds of dialup and EDGE quality during the hours of 12pm and 1:30am in my zipcode and around it. it didn't happen anywhere else I was at and the Ev logo was displayed onscreen during this period. I keep sprint in check on this issue and they have even credited my account to the point where my last bill was entirely free and I'll continue to do so until they finally fix the towers in my area. I have a WiFi connection in my house now so I don't have to deal with it as much as I used to but I still turn it off to check the speeds every now and then and they have gotten a little better. I mean how hard is it and how much time is needed to fix a tower, its been almost 5 months so far.
