I want WM7 Phone with Sprint but don't like HTC Arrive
Guys,
I like that Sprint will bring in the HTC WM7 phone, but come on.... 3G, small display and $10.00 a month upcharge is more of a Con then a Pro to me. I have 3 other phones on my plan and I would definetely not jump to upgrading all of my phones to Arrive. Browsing the internet on my TP2 right now is like trying to push a cow through a keyhole, so another 3G phone is definetely not what I want.... I wouldn't mind getting an unlocked CDMA phone and paying a little extra.... Browsing the internet on HTC Arrive would not get much better then on TP2, display is not really bigger, so why sign a new contract ? I just don't see the point... New cooler OS, WoooHoo, big deal,.... Android phones look way cooler hardware-wise, I just don't care for Android OS, otherwise I would be sold by now... Any new CDMA/4G/WIN7 phones with slide out keyboards on the horizon besides the HTC Arrive? Is anybody else here considering getting an unlocked WM7 phone to use with Sprint.... |

join the crowd, nothing to do but wait or jump ship.

Yeah, I agree. Just wanted to see if there is something I may have overlooked before jumping the ship lol

Its WP7..not WM7 >.> lol..anyways.. locked or unlocked does not matter.you can only use Arrive on the Sprint Network...and you will end up paying $10 fee either way... As for 4g..I dont think WP7 supports 4G yet..WP7 only allows pre-approved hardware..latest update brought CDMA... But I will tell you this, processor and hardware acceleration makes a BIG difference for web browsing...I use my Epic on 3g and 4g..in tethering I see huge improvement on 4g and downloading files..but on surfing the web...if 3g signal is good its just as fast....Most of the lag on TP2 in web browsing is rendering the JavaScript and other elements.. |
Re: I want WM7 Phone with Sprint but don't like HTC Arrive
Thank you for correcting me. I'm working on the project and have been up for 2 days straight, so aplogize for mishap on my part. I do appreciate the info. I'm actually considering Android but will wait and see what Arrive looks like. Realistically, if I could get an Android app that works very well with a lot of my Outlook subfolders that I sync, I will give it a better consideration. All of my smart phones were Windows Mobile, but with my TP2 and all the problems I was having other phones look like more of an eye candy and less then a business tool. One thing it must have is 4G, slide out keyboard and larger display, so maybe Android might work instead of waiting for another 6 - 12 months for Windows Phone to arrive.

Sync Android/Droid with Outlook/Exchange Many are free and come with free trial and Sprint gives you 30 days to try..for example CompanionLink is a popular one.. I dont think WP7 at this point does Outlook sync without using another software either (unless they fixed it in recent update idk)..yes as crazy as it sounds M$ did not put Outlook sync in it :/..WP7 is right now aimed at average consumers..not business users.. Personally I wish MeeGo would come out so android would have some competition in the open source mobile space :/ |
