activation timing
 

this my be a silly question but i've looked around at sprint faqs and can't find the answer.

i'm going to upgrade a line to get my son a new phone for his birthday but i dont want to give it to him until his actual birthday. how long after i recieve the phone do i have to activate it? it will be less than a week from the time i recieve it and the day i would give it to him

I think its 30 days though if you get it from a third party like bestbuy they try to force activations right away.

You have 30 days to activate it if you purchase from Sprint.com, Telesales, or a corporate store. Indirect, Preferred Partner, etc purchases must be activated before you walk out of the door with it.
