Evo without data plan

is it not possible to get get this phone without a "real" data plan?

I have just a basic plan with unlimited everything for $10 (which I grandfathered into a long time ago) but they tell me I need a real data plan to get this phone.

I don't want to lose my plan since its the only thing keeping me with Sprint.

Wirelessly posted (htc touch pro: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; PC36100 Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

The answer is No. You need the everything plan or sero premium and an extra $10 fee to use this phone.

You got grandfathered into a dirt cheap data plan and you're complaining that they're not giving you anything? Come on now..

I wouldn't be complaining! $10 dollar plan!?!?! That's my bill, but only cause I work at VZW :D Still, no room for complaints when most ppl are paying at least $50 a month for a smartphone IMO.

I agree, smartphone plans are expensive as hell. I pay 30 bucks alone just for my Blackberry data plan, its expensive but well worth it to be able to use the phone to its full capacity.

Dish out for the plan, it'll make your phone much more enjoyable

I guess I wasn't really complaining, just a bit upset that i'm being forced to stay on lower tiered phones if I want to keep my plan the way it is
