AT&T / T-Mobile question about Bands??

I have some interest in the new Samsung Nexus S. It will be launching on T-Mobile. I'm wondering how can I tell if it will work on AT&T? I'm trying to figure out how to tell which bands I need.

Nexus S ? The new Android phone from Google tells me that it runs on these bands.

Quad-band GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
Tri-band HSPA: 900, 2100, 1700
HSPA type: HSDPA (7.2Mbps) HSUPA (5.76Mbps)

Does any of that equal full 3g support for AT&T? Also, how do you know?

Unfortunately no. It will work on EDGE only with At&t.

At&t uses 850/1900MHz as their bands, so as you can see, HSPA isn't available for those. HSPA=3G.

Wirelessly posted (PPCGEEKS Fire Dept.: Opera/9.70 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) TMO-US_LEO)

for some odd reason, at&t and tmobile use different gsm bands. if you cross one with the other, you get edge only.
